arkark Posted September 2, 2019 Share Posted September 2, 2019 By the symptoms I would not discard either a failing SATA wire or drive self turning off because overheating as the causes for the failure. Any other game works very well Well, no matter what program causes it but that is not normal behaviour so i would take necessary steps to backup any important data. caleb68 Posted September 8, 2019 Share Posted September 8, 2019 drives vanishing from windows is a classic sign of drive failure as you've been told by many people. The reason that it may be failing while downloading ark is the data thats being attempted to be wrote to the drive is most likely hitting a area in the drive that has already failed.
