Need Small Tribe Tips

I recently got into small tribes pvp on pc and joined in a newer established tribe and we are constantly being harassed and griefed by players who are already quite advanced and built up. We've been wiped multiple times by players with the craziest mutated dinos and it seems like no matter where we go or what we do its difficult to get built up to a point where we can fend them off. 

Was looking for some tips from more experienced players about how my tribe can go about being able to build up without being wiped and start to be able to progress further into the game.
