Encouragement to tare down old constructions.

People need an incentive.  Perhaps a special shop where they could buy unusual stuff.  If a player tares down 1000 pieces of their own old constructions they would earn points to spend in a shop with exclusive items.  Their constructions would have to be at least three months old to get this prize.  

Suggestion is a solution to all the empty unused buildings you see all over that players are just to lazy or unwilling to admit that they will never return and use these again so they keep them going.

encourages build-farms. where do you even come up with these ideas?

wouldn't it be more reasonable to have a server wide structure cap instead of the proximity/render one we have?

This would just encourage folks to build massive bases everywhere to collect their prizes after 3 months. The situation will get worse and it won't help. The main reason why people are not demolishing their old bases is because it takes a massive amount of time to process every pieces one by one. Adding the possibility to get an entire base deleted in a single step would be much more effective than a "reward shop".
