TorqueJV Posted July 29, 2019 Share Posted July 29, 2019 Picking Myself Up with Argent I have seen YouTube videos on taming Quetzals and they are picking themselves up and whistling to get their argents to go to the Qeutzal and shooting it. How do I pick myself up or tell it to carry me? They aren't. They are grappling to the Argent if going solo. If they are being picked up, the Argent has a rider. RageQuitter Posted July 29, 2019 Share Posted July 29, 2019 Yeah if nobody is on the argent then they're grappling it, used to be the main method for soloing quetzal before griffins were releaaed, think it's bugged at the moment though, wasn't working on PC when Valguero was released, both argents and pteras fly round in a circle when you whistle attack Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Graviphoton Posted July 30, 2019 Share Posted July 30, 2019 Argentavis is too slow for keeping up with scared Quetzalcoatlus. So in vanilla game (without mods) you should use Pteranodon (or Tapejara at least). So minimal setup is 1x Ptera + 2x Crossbow + 1x Grapling Hook + plenty of Tranquilizer Arrows. Doable? Yes. Reasonable? No. Delays between hits are much bigger, you have to use much more arrows and it lasts much longer to get Quetz down. I agree, just seemed like your other post was saying it was impossible with an argy so I just wanted to say it can be done.
