Hey Survivors! Welcome to the latest edition of the Community Crunch! :Jerbhi:

Valguero for Console

Ark-Survival-Evolved.jpg

It's a light week in terms of news, as this week the team will be busy addressing any recent issues related to the Valguero launch. We'll also be identifying ways to address recent duping from an exploit that was isolated to the XBOX network.  We've fixed this particular exploit with the Valguero patch and will work with the community to identify exploits that may still exist. Transfers should be re-enabled on all servers now.

As always, transfers on Valguero will be disabled for XBOX and PS4 for a period of time.  The timing will be similar to PC (But adjusted) and updated in the thread below, once confirmed.

It may be quiet now, but there are exciting things on the horizon!

Voting Is Open!

large.SignedCE_Sized.jpg

The ARK Modding Contest has finally opened the public vote! ?
It's up to you, the players, to decide the final winners of the contest. The winner of each category will be awarded a whopping $10,000!

Everyone gets one vote for each category, be mindful that once you submit your vote you will not be able to change it.
If you are not sure who the finalists are we have compiled a playlist of short showcase videos for each finalist that you can find right here!
We've also set up a steam collection with all of the finalists for your convenience.

To vote, head on over to each of the contest pages for Maps and Mods.
Voting will close on Sunday, 07/28/2019 05:00 PM (PDT), so make sure to show your support for your favorites before then.

Voting will enter you for a chance to win a Collectors Edition box signed by the development team. The winners will be drawn at random after the contest has finished. One for each category.

So I've started wondering... the suggestions have been remodeled on the official forums so that people could vote for them.

But there is never an incentive (for instance in the weekly community crunch) to look for them, browse them, vote for them. As a result, the number of votes is low compared to how many people play this game daily.
I've mentioned several times on Twitter that a good way to show that the Ark devs care about those suggestions would be to highlight a handful each week in the Community Crunch (one suggestion would never be allowed to be twice, and being part of the highlights would NOT be an indicator that they are favored by the devs). Ced said he'd look into doing that. Never happened since. Which, ok, you do you. It was just a suggestion about the suggestions, right ? Nothing mandatory.
Except nothing at all has been done. Nothing has been announced about any of suggestions that gained a lot of votes. Have they not reached enough votes ? What's the minimum amount of votes for a suggestion to be put on the map for future updates or content ? If a suggestion has a lot of votes but is not doable in the foreseeable future, will you tell us or let us guess ? Isn't it time to do *something* about that ? Some feedback about our feedback ?

Is it worth reading them ? Is it worth voting for them ? Is it worth coming up with them ? Is it worth trying to take part in this exercise at all ? When we try to tell you how to solve some of the problems we have, are we actually screaming into the void ? At the end of the day, it's not so much feeling like a way to communicate, but like an empty gesture.

I don't get why you people have such a hard time with a bit of transparency. This is a dinosaur game, not the nuclear codes. Especially on a slow week with no major announcement, giving us a bit of insight about the inner workings of tools you have yourself put in place would really go a long way.

One major question:

Why only release 25 PvE servers, on a free map, when your PvE users outnumber your PvP users by close to 2 to 1, and then release 72 PvP servers? (2 of which are full, most are around 40 players)...compared to jam-packed PvE servers)

Whoever screwed that up needs an arithmetic lesson and some separation papers.

4 hours in queue is unacceptable. And for Pete's sake, disable drowning on PvE when offline. You're harboring a toxic culture, and driving users away.

Hmm, well as far as suggestions go, id love to see some more TLC going into a few different dinos. The following are dinos that Ive gathered more than a few opinions on and most agree they could all use a little tweaking, some more, some less. Mainly its the ones you just dont see anyone taming for anything, you dont see any demand at all for them anymore since the kibble revamp (not that I dislike the new kibble system, just an observation really.) and they are as follows: Carnotaurus, Archaeopteryx, Diplodocus, Dilophosaurus, Morrellatops, Megalodon, Lymantria, Lystrosaurus, Titanosaur (basically make it useful again though im not sure how), Gallimimus, Pachy, Araneo, Carbonemys, Dimetrodon, Chalicotherium, Daeodon, Dunkleosteus, Enforcer, Iguanadon, Kairuku, Mammoth, Manta, Megaloceros, Pelagornis, Phiomia, Pulmonoscorpius, Sabertooth, Stegosaurus, Tapejara, Terrorbird, Thylacolea, and the Vulture

If you're meaning because 2x maturation ended, this isn't new that it's just how ark works, anything positive has a negative, oh there's cool coloured dinos, no 2x for you. Theres a cool candy that half tames stuff for vday? Well still no 2x effectively meaning this cool candy was just a limited 2x depending on how many dinos you could breed. If youre gonna do a raising event, yes you could do some maths too avoid it but of course they won't make it easy to imprint fully.

The problems I know about Valguero So far-

Console hosted dedicated servers are not saving progress-

Map Sometimes not loading correctly-

Deinonychus Eggs not spawning-

Wyverns Appearing Invisible-

Via- @ArkNews_ On Twitter

The broodmothers in the spider cave are also invisible, and ice wyvern eggs sometimes appear as fertilized packaged and when you grab them give you an invisible 50 pounds

Will the Evo Event actually be active this weekend.  The one announced for the 19-22 didn't seem to be working on the valguero map I was on, and it seemed like others had similar problems.

Yeah, no acknowledgement that it didn’t even happen. Perhaps they should extend the next EVO Event, or even make it 3x to make up for the letdown.

Because of the way it comes out, it can also affect dinos that were started before the event. We learned that the hard way and just put those babies on pause until the event is over.

Also, while I didn’t notice any problems during the 2x, there are times where the dinos mature too fast to get a full imprint. That applies to dinos started and ended during the event.

For players wanting to continue with dinos once the event is over without losing imprint, they just need to cryo their dinos with as much of the 8 hr imprint timer left as possible before the event ends. In theory, that should allow them to pick up where they left off.
