mattj
I tried to tame a L135 Quetzal yesterday. I shot it 50 times with a 200% crossbow to knock it out. I then gave it 61 Rex kibble (my version still uses old kibble). I can’t explain why, but it didn’t tame. After all the kibble was eaten it was just at 66% tamed. This Quetzal has woken up and I saw it flying this morning. I think I saw it was a little bloodied still. I didn’t pay attention to it’s health before abandoning it last night. Since it appears to be lower on health, which weapon should I use to knock it out again? Should I use a 100% longneck to do the least damage per shot? Or should I use 250% crossbows or even a harpoon gun to do the most torpor per shot? I’m just worried about killing it. Ill most likely be doing this on 2x on official. It'll show you how many darts/tranq arrows, based upon damage of weapon, is needed to KO a tame. Quetzal's have a decent HP pool so I'd probably go with the crossbow here. If you go to Ark wiki it'll show you how much torpor vs damage a crossbow vs longneck does then you can just calculate based on yours.
BlueberryJackal
Pretty much all the important things are mentioned. But its important to watch its torpor. It decreases rapidly with a slow decrease of food.
