Thorandil Posted May 14, 2019 Share Posted May 14, 2019 Base game compatibility w/expansions I have a dedicated server via Nodecraft, and currently everyone has just the base game. If I got the expansions, would my friends still be able to play the game with me if they don't have the expansions? Would any new expansion items interfere with their game experience? Zahlea Posted May 14, 2019 Share Posted May 14, 2019 The expansions are essentially the maps. Your friends will still be able to play with you but they won't be able to go with you to the other maps. If you go to another map and bring back some map specific dinos, they can use those dinos. If you don't go to another map, it won't affect your game in any way - you all already have all the assets installed with your game. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Aylana314159 Posted May 14, 2019 Share Posted May 14, 2019 You can customize the Island map (base game), or the free Center or Ragnarok maps to include the DLC content. It just takes some time to create the custom code for the ini files and some creative workarounds to get things to work if you cannot use mods.
