Any new dlc information coming out?

You expect more out of the things you love because you want them to be as good as you know they can be. That's why I'm harder on Ark.

I've never been on a COD, AC, GOW, or R6 forum. They all have had their issues but it was a combination of less issues, quicker corrections, and not being as invested in them.

i would love if Ark 2 had some sort of actual story, whatever ark 2 is, i will not be getting it till i see some youtuber gameplay of it, i just like to watch youtube before i get a game or expansion, not gonna go wasting money on games or expansions i not gonna play, also what would happen with Ark 2, i think there is new content coming just now till way later in the year when they sweep up most of the bugs, i am still busy with kibble rework and new structures, would love some new items though, maybe new dinos or TLC, i dont do much taming no more, i have sort of turned to breedign and building, and boss battles. new things to spice up creatures and taming would be good.

I find I odd that Ced would say Ark 1

the following article make me believe that some sort of announcement would be made at E3 since he did ask on twitter if anyone was going to E3

https://unboxedreviews.co.uk/2019/05/18/ark-survival-evolved-review/

interesting... his statement 'that ark won't have any further dlc released being confirmed by the release of atlas, when in a news post after atlas was released Wildcard stated that they would continue to work on ark and bring more DLC.  Conflicting information there, which should I believe, the one from a off site, or the one from wildcards news post in steam?

(edit - my reply ended up in the quote oddly, fixed)

Yeah I am not convinced by the article, its all conjecture. I do not agree with the reviewers conclusion that the release of Atlas is confirmation that there wont be more to come for Ark 1. Atlas is being devloped by a separate studio i.e. Grapshot Games and not WC, even though the two are almost the same thing. I do agree that its likely we will find out at E3 what is to come next for Ark.

Thank you for reading the article and for bringing this to my attention. You are right, my views on future DLC could well be wrong, but my information came from my previous job working in the gaming industry which allowed me information that either directly told me the course of a games shelf life or at least enough to gauge a solid prediction.

However, either way, I should and will add to the article that these are my prediction based on the information given to me, I do know that similar information has been given to owners of server companies that specialise in ark servers, as I have spoken at great length about it with the server companies owners.

While I love gaming and loved my time working for the gaming industry, content writing is a completely new venture for me, and value feedback such as this to improve the news and reviews I put out there.

I would also like to add, I really hope I'm wrong, I love Ark and personally hope that some other articles I have seen about a water world style DLC are true, but I really do beleive my sources that Ark 2 is the studios active focus right now over DLC.

all june events skipped this year / lack of content

In the past years we had 3 different events in this month, Anniversary, ARKaeology and Extinction Chronicles.

Events we had this years were all very much alike, green, red, pink colors were all part of events this year 2 or 3 times. Yet some colors were not part of any event.

I feel like the game is dying. There is not much left to do, on officials everything is already breeded to 300+ lvl, farming and boss dinos highly mutated in hp/dmg. Bases are fully upgraded to TEK. There is no more goals left in the game.

Game is starving for content and there are simple and quick solutions devs can do to keep us busy/entertained while they work on bigger things (mby new dlc, new dinos or a map) For example just make some of unbreadable dinos bredeable, just relase event with new colors so that we can breed new things.

Hummm, interesting, I wish there was a little more details written there, but I recall those events.

As some already know, I have been around since the days of TSL, which in a sense gave birth to the idea of Ark (though they were different propositions from the get go). I have seen it all since and in recent months I preferred to just observe the forums instead of tossing my two cents around as often... Less is more sometimes, besides you all provide excellent reading content and arguments, I really enjoy reading them.

However,  I have been vocal in past against the idea of a sequel at this time (I stress its a timing issue, a successor would make sense eventually), I think its a poor decision based on a number of arguments and long posts I have made... Clearly this is a lost battle and therefore I will not pry on it any longer, I accept this and I do not have the "big data" of customer engagement, so I have to trust them to run their business as efficiently as possible... Its only fair.

Cedric has opened another approach for dialog which works for me (not undermining his colleagues, but Cedric has addressed some topics which are important to me in a way that just works), so I will not shut myself, and at least hear them out. The number of updates and fixes provided recently has also been noticed by me and I feel that since its restructuring Wildcard has gradually taken Ark to a better place, I am grateful for this.

There are things I don't want to happen in this inevitable successor:

1.) Lose access to private server model, whichever product comes, I would need to be able to run it without an official server, I love you all, but I rather have my experience limited and customized to me and friends only. It is probably not going to be an issue considering how big modding and private server community is, so its more of stressing the importance for independence rather than been genuinely concerned.

2.) Start over, the grind is too much, the experience is fun, but as a 1 way ticket, I have 2000 hours, which is not even that much compared to others. But life, daughter, wife, job, etc... gives me plenty to do, thankfully, so starting over from 0 and grinding back up is a no no for me. How they will structure the grind will be important to mitigate this, especially for veterans. This could easily be mediated thru modding the server and tailoring to my experience, sure, but I never get it quite right and the "single player mode" server option is still not really well balanced.

3.) 1 Early Access is all I need for a game like Ark. I have entered a phase I rather have the "1.0" experience, not alpha, not beta, not Early Access edition. So I leave this to others, I am sure there will be people willing to take the leap of faith. It was fun and to an extent is nostalgic, but its better left in the past.

4.) We have so many animals and tools / options, I really doubt they can meet this amount of content from day 1 and any drops in gadgets and critters will upset someone in the community, but I leave this as a challenge to prove me wrong, maybe they will have 100% of everything in a new game in addition to new stuff... highly unlikely, not because they don't want to, because its impractical.

That is it, if there is more content that is additive to my current experience, count me in - no questions asked. If its a new stuff from scratch, show it to me and then we will talk, but I am ready to stay right here in my base should it fail to impress me / be reasonable, specifically on those 4 points raised before.

I hope for the best, for all parties involved, I really do... Whichever form it takes.

Don't fool anyone, Atlas is being developed by Grapeshot, in which management is entirely WC, simply under a new name.  Any new game by the management of Atlas/WC or any Snail Games affiliation will have to release the game (not early release bullpoop) with perfection and that is not possible in that studio.  The mentality for the studio is to get the money up front and they will provide as much as they deem relevant.

Atlas has to be the worst launched game EVER!  You would think that they learned from all of the raptorups in ARK but no, they topped themselves by advertising a launch, had a captive audience (200k people) on Twitch for it and totally crapped the bed.

My point being, WC is dealing with Ark and Grapeshot Atlas, therefore the conclusion that with the release of Atlas mean that there wont be anymore DLC for Ark is questionable.  Am sure the section dealing with Ark can still release a DLC or what ever.

Couldnt care less about Atlas, the game interests me as much as COD does.
