Make Griffins & Wyverns Breedable and/Or Saddleable

With the advent of tames like the snow owl and mana which can be given high end saddles and bred, we need to buff the older non-saddled dinos to have other counter options and so the meta doesn't stagnate

 

Making wyverns breedable or a saddle option similar to equus (ride with or without) would mean more effective and varied counters to manas maneuvering

 

Griffins similarly would be pull out of just being a quick flight tame and become properly effective again

I agree on griffins. Not rly wyverns/drakes though, but perhaps it could be a server setting for sp/unofficials! I do think wyverns and drakes should drop unfert eggs though and female wyverns should produce milk in their inventories, even if it's a small amount.

Please please please make griffins breedable!

 

Seeing as you guys have made griffins breedable on mobile, I think it's only fitting to make them breedable on the other platforms as well. I understand that the Griffin's dive swipe and dive bomb have very high base damage but landing those hits often take time and require proper positioning to get it right. I believe it's safe to say a person would tend to dive bomb or dive swipe once or twice per confrontation, and if they did more they would spend a good deal of time killing whatever it was they were killing. Even then, nerfing those numbers a little bit would be a fine trade for breeding in my opinion, as I'd love to have an imprinted griffin at my disposal, especially since it does not have a saddle to give it armor. Also, think of the griffin babies!

 

With the implementation of the Snow Owls, it seems the griffin has begun to be overshadowed. With a faster base speed, the same gliding capabilities and very slightly lower base damage, the owl already has somewhat of an advantage, as it also is able to heal itself and allies remarkably quickly. Not to mention, it can wear saddles and benefit from the armor that it provides, and also can be bred! The griffin has only one perk that the snow owl does not(well, two if you count an extra riding seat) and that is it's dive bomb, which is very strong but doomed to be limited as breeding and imprinting cannot improve it further. 

 

In conclusion, Griffins are amazing and I love them, but theres so much potential that they are not able to reach as they are overshadowed by the snow owl's versatility and the wyvern's damage and health. If they were able to be bred, they could be a strong, deadly mount that is highly coveted by most people. Think about it, and think of all the griffin chick-cubs!

Birth-only breed should remain Birth-only breed, they should never be breedable.

 

...cept for Griffin. They already made it breedable in mobile by unique means, so why shouldn't Griffin not be breedable?

I say wyvens shouldn’t be able to breed but have a saddle option and griffins should have both

Personally I would love to see a server settings option, or check box, that would allow us to set some creatures to breed that we currently can't. Creatures like Wyverns, Griffins, Rockdrakes, etc. Even if their was a limitation to how many times they could be bred, or a long period between eggs/births... it would be nice to at least have the option to turn that off or on.

To which I will add, a mod will work for some unofficial servers- but not console. 

The saddle option would be nice too though. I think they could look cool and if some neat costumes were thrown into the mix, even better. 

Overall, I like this suggestion.

I dislike the thought of breeding on Wyverns. Kinda defeats the purpose of their taming method.

Wyverns could do with a Tek saddle, but probably not a normal saddle.

 

Griffins could stand to have a saddle and breeding, seeing as how Snow Owls do almost everything they do+ the healing. Only thing that would need a nerf is the damage they do with the Skystrike Swipe. Normal base damage would probably be buffed to kinda counteract this.

They are supposed to be end game, they are supposed to be somewhat overpowered. I think allowing breeding with certain stat caps would be awesome

Instead of breeding raise the max level eggs you can get on officials. Make it level 300 or so, to allow Drake's and Wyverns to compete with the level 400+ dinos that are common these days.

Ok, so this is were I stand with this. 

From a multiplayer-PvP perspective things are good the way they are. 

With that said, its no secret that I have been enjoying Ark a lot more with very few friends, sometimes solo even (as they do not play on a consistent basis, its still the same server).

On a personal experience, yes I would like to breed those to make my ultimate being, particularly the Wyverns as mix and matching them is appealing to me. Having a server option (like the one to permanently keep the Titanosaur would be ideal as I could flip the switch on or off).

As for the saddles, I think that not having them from a conceptual perspective is that these "ultimate" beings are not tamed, they are earned. I prefer Wyverns not to have saddles as it reinforces their majesty as force of its own. However, the saddle topic comes up often due to armor... Perhaps instead of a saddle we could use actual armor set (slotted as a saddle), something cool, maybe scaled iron plates or something, could work... The issue is it should not have reigns, these animals would not be led, they would chose to follow its master, its different from the other creatures we submit.

These are my thoughts on this, but after I am done with Extinction, I have only played vanilla Ark to this day (I run from Mods like a plague, always had poor experiences with them in other games). But the Wyvern breeding mod might be the only one I will make an exception, as I know I want to have 1 very unbelievably powerful Fire/Ice Wyvern in my roster, best of all I can remove the mod after it and still keep the game working, at least as it seems. 

Edit: When I say mix and match I mean in their own sub-species groups, no hybrids or such.

it got kinda unbalanced. On extinction Gigas are the meta for Purple Drops. Dragons are Pretty useless there, although they used to be so strong creatures. Thumbs up for more balance (and fun breeding Dragons,reapers,Basilisk)

Mana only has 125 less base hp, but gains ~20 more hp per wild level and ~1% more hp per domesticated level, plus its breedable and has a saddle.

Yeah the griffin might have been OP in the past before you added a ton more OP Dino's, but the balance shifts when you begin looking at things relatively.

So how is a Mana breedable and a Griffin not? It seems like you're just dismissing the idea so you don't have to do the work, which I don't blame you for, you have a lot of work to do, but just be honest with your fans.

i like the idea of giving a bit more variety with a wyvern and griffin buff, but on the other hand, there is a reason why they are not breedable. With the wyvern it is quite understandable, why they are not breedable, because once you have a male and a female, you dont need to get them the more difficult way. But a saddle would be a good idea. 

But instead of buffing the Griffin and the Wyvern, nerfing the others would be a better solutions, before people are complaining, that wyverns are too strong and that griffins are too strong, and so on. You know how it is.

Consoles don't have an option to run the sort of mods that allow non breadables to be breedable

I really don't see why it has to be one way or the other...

To breed, or not to breed... that doesn't have to be the question. 

Why not have it as a server setting? That way official servers and unofficial servers can choose of they want them breedable or not.

I am pretty sure PC has some mods that do something similar, and by adding a server selection to turn breeding on or off, unofficial servers, dedicated servers, and single players on console would have a chance to customize something that PC already has access to.

So if it ends up OP, they can then decide how to work with it. 

It wouldn't effect official necessarily, nor anyone who doesn't want it. 

*as an added difficulty factor, I would suggest that the raising on the creatures be more difficult. Wyverns would still require Milk, Griffins possibly eating only kibble, etc. It shouldn't be an easy process by any means and should take a bit more effort of behalf of the player to raise the creature.

I have always wanted breedable griffins. Compared with the new creatures in game right now griffins are pretty useless. They are too squishy for battles right now and too kibble expensive to waste them in pvp unless there is nothing else that can do the job.

They like manas, fliers, drakes have been nerfed so much there is no such thing in game as an op griffin, breeding and combining stats or at least breeding so we dont have to keep taming them would be great and super cute.

Griffins are a standard tame. There is no reason that they should not be breedable other than mythical, yet owls overshadow them (and they technically are mythical creatures- they, in ARK's reiteration, do NOT EXIST!). Snakes should be added to this list too- why can't we breed them? You can breed hesperornis, and they have the golden eggs.

Thats would be great, to make them breadable   But i aggree with  Voltarendolo too. I dont play pvp in ark, but i think that is too nightmare    But in pve its why not?:)  Wyvern cant use for boss Only use them for wyvern egg stealing, or travelling, killing dinos.
