Sphere
Try to fly around and look for the green text. The other thing you can try is using K to free camera, and then look under the map to view up from the underneath with the camera, to see if you can spot it. On my cluster you can use /track to find any dinosaur. Although not a perfect system, better than nothing.
BlueberryJackal
Holding the select button for some seconds gives you a radial menu and a new hud that marks all of your dinos with a big fat arrow. This should help you finding it. Now you have to fly around and seach it. Good luck.
Kristofer
Shutting the door after the horse has bolted, but putting trackers on dinosaur can help finding them in this sort of situation.
Milsurp
Try sticking a torch on their saddle before you jump off in the wild. If this happens, you can wait until dark and fly around looking for the torchlight. Although the Extended Server Info button gives you the big green ^ sign at almost the same range. choroni
The Larkator app is also a good tool that has helped me find lost dinos in the past.
Cowgirl
I usually fly around spamming the "all follow" button.
