How to fight with a tamed Rex

Iv'e been playing ark on a private server with my friends for the past few months, we play on The Island. I have recently tamed a fairly good rex (lvl 134) and have been frustrated using it. Whenever I engage a Dino that has a higher turning rate it always manages to flank me and stick to my backside. It is then almost impossible to turn around and attack it because its turn rate is horrible. Do you guys have any tips on fighting with a T rex? Thanks for any help!

Try back peddling for a little bit at the start of the fight. If you are fighting multiple wilds, like a pack of wolves, you will want to slowly back peddle almost the whole fight. You take WAY less damage that way and won't have to worry about trying to run in circles.

That works with all land based tames.  I was using that same strategy with a Daedon last night against a big pack of Dire Wolves.

I use the same technique for bats, which will get inside your bite range (attack the rexes' body where the bite range is based from the head) if you dont.

Abuse the knockback. Back up while biting to keep anything you need at distance.  Most of the time you'll be able to completely avoid damage this way.  Even better if you're backing up uphill because you'll get extra distance on your knockback sending whatever you're fighting downhill a little.
