Official Statement Regarding H.O.D Gaming and Game Exploits

Providing a fair, fun, and safe environment for everyone is something we take very seriously here at Wildcard.  Building an enforcement team was the first step to making sure that people can enjoy ARK without fear of cheating.  Since the introduction of the enforcement team, we've noticed a considerable improvement in the overall quality of life of those playing on our official servers. In severe situations, like someone meshing or duping or spreading information related to such, our first instinct is to try and take action with the intention of preserving the integrity of our official server network.

When someone is banned as a result of our Code of Conduct, there is an appeal process that allows for a fair review of the situation. There are always two sides to every story and we want to remain impartial and hear both. Any issue that violates our Code of Conduct is subject to a fair appeal process. When things land in the gray area, our first instinct is to do whatever is in our power to prevent abuse. Upon further review of the situation involving H.O.D Gaming, we felt that it was not deserving of a permanent ban. Videos showing exploit techniques are admittedly a gray area when it comes to enforcement, which is just one of the reasons why the appeal process exists for bans.

Several changes each patch are aimed at fixing exploits but the methods that are used are continually evolving; as such, we are always trying to improve our procedures when it comes to situations that affect the player-base.  We use these situations to take a look at our internal process and identify areas where we can do better or provide more clarification.

There are established methods for escalating exploits to the development team that exist to prevent the spread of information to the general public.  The more widely known an exploit is, the more likely it is to be exploited. In these instances you should file your report on the SurviveTheARK website.  You can find the link to report abuse or bugs under the support header.

We want to make sure that everyone can enjoy their experience on our official network and will continue to take exploit matters seriously.  As always, we value community feedback and encourage you to share it with us. Thanks for your continued support and passion for the game!

How can you say that people should send a report to the development team when whenever anyone sends in a report you take a month or two to reply let alone act on the situation in hand. All H.O.D simply did was make it evident that the game youve created is massively flawed and has been for the previous 3 years. Rather than releasing a statement or even opting to improve the game your initial reaction was to just ban him. Its ludicrous. The same methods have been used for a long time now and its come to the point where players of ark just accept that meshing is a normal thing when it isnt. If youre playing any other game and the players are unable to be killed or under the map etc then there would be an uproar. Unbanning is a good step forward but when so many major youtubes such as kishko, hod, gtjacked etc have stated numerous ways of fixing meshing it seems you dont want to bother with helping the game progress.

Let’s be openly honest he was on single player showing the exploits of the game he has a huge following and anyone who knows hod knows he’s a clean player what would he get for cheating on a game his fans love? He would get hate less views and unsubs. He doesn’t cheat. He’s trying to inform everyone of all the new ways and items that are used to cheat. He has mentioned removing chairs and people are complaining saying they shouldn’t remove chairs because of cheaters. Do you idiots understand that half of the things used to mesh people don’t even need in the game to play? Let’s be open here, the games playerbase Has dropped a ton and every time you talk about it on ark forums you got all these wildcard defenders trying to defend them. You guys are pathetic. This game is 60$ and takes a very long time to build up and get big not to mention all your dlcs. Wildcard studio is easy the worst dev team I’ve ever come across. Chances are I’ll be banned off these forums for telling the truth. And yes hod is speaking for the community almost every ark you tuber has come out supporting him just the pve noobs complain because they don’t wanna lose the chairs they sit in. Idiots.

Not to cause conflict but you state that "Providing a fair,  fun,  and safe environment is something you take seriously", yet nothing has been done to provide what is expected ,  Ark is possibly one of the worst exploited games and little to nothing had been done to fix the issues that already exist

So true, wildcard has done nothing to fix it. I will say recently they have been fixing holes but that doesn’t fix the overall issue and more ways to be learned. All I know is is another wildcard game comes out and this one doesn’t get fixed I’m never purchasing anything from these “devs” ever again.

you guys are amazing.. you saying that we need to put exploits and reports on your website, and all we see in your respond is that you feel sorry or something like that and yall never do anything to resolve problem. didnt you think that thats the main reason why people dont trust you anymore and put everything in global to finally get your attention with little hope that you will actually do something..

Remove mesh items ezz fix it took a 14 yr old to figure that out

That's not a fix, that's just kicking the can down the road and opening up other problems. Years ago, people were using dino/behemoth gates to mesh into the terrain. I don't think anyone here would want any gates gone. This also just highlights how exploits evolve, which is what Ced said in the post.

I honestly felt like some of the point of this post is just pure contradictory.

You said "our first instinct is to try and take action with the intention of preserving the integrity of our official server network", YET some of your staff here doesn't even know how to moderate the report properly. Some very good example are restoring of lost dino and reimbursing most, if not all, data of old character to new ones because of rollbacks, because of the issues YOU GUYS didn't bother to fix or just fixed temporarily and slapped it as completely fixed. Half of your staff will fix the player's issue, the other half? They don't even know how to do their job and give "internal policy" as a sorry excuse not to even do anything, and instead just close the ticket when they still wanted it fixed.

Same goes for reporting, especially in PvP servers. It felt either corrupted, or just half-stupid. "First instinct"? Then why "Upon further review of the situation involving H.O.D Gaming, we felt that it was not deserving of a permanent ban"? Why not investigate WHICH INCOMPETENT STAFF permanently banned him in the first place before you start reviewing this ban of his and either get him fired or something? It just shows how poorly moderated Official Servers are. And don't get me started on the fact that some GMs will listen to other players like dogs to master, and devwipe tribes that didn't even deserve it, or had done nothing wrong to deserve such a treatment.

And look at the amount of report that has been piling up in your reports of both bug and explot. 10 frigging k has not been resolved. How the heck is that letting people enjoying their experience when your staff can't even properly keep up with the reporting issue?

Maybe you guys really should relook at how your moderating GM are doing properly with both the game servers and any reports YOU GUYS never fixed, or just half-fixed before you try to raise your head high.

Not Enough WildCard. You lost a lot more people due to your acts of bafooning and this won’t change views. You banned an intense supporter of your game. You bit more than you can chew. The only thing you can do now is release more items to distract your player base until the meshing comes back.

Just don't share it with you and everyone else via a video you mean.

The guy should never have been banned in the first place, all he did was highlight an ever growing problem. Let's be honest here, if this hadn't happened and all the backlash that has come with it you guys would still be silent about the meshing issues.

I haven't long been back to the game after a lengthy break, but you guys have never changed. Either bury your heads in the sand and hope problems go away, or just give the same generic responses to problems.
