Perhaps not completely on topic, but does anyone know why the chatbox location was moved?

The popup keyboard on Xbox completely covers it, and the chatbox still moves to the middle, covering up stats when in inventories. It seems to be in two of the worst possible places it could be. Was this a ‘fix’ for PC or something, because all it’s accomplished on console is redundant conversations and out of order responses that quickly spiral into confusion?

The upper left corner seemed to be the best possible place for it. I only wish it would move to the lower left, instead of the middle, when accessing inventories. Can anyone enlighten me as to who was asking for it or was helped by it being moved?

So frustrating now...

Is there any kind of source for this?  I'd like more information as a Switch fan myself, I am genuinely curious!

Last week, I was talking to the people of Abstraction about the whole issue of ARK Nintendo Switch version. They want to continue working on the Switch version, but there's no communication about whether or not they can do it, for more than two months. They, in fact, have made improvements, which they can't apply because Wildcard simply does not answer them.

I published an article with the consent of Abstraction in NextN:

https://www.nextn.es/2019/02/abstraction-games-ark-survival-evolved-switch/

Our friends from GoNintendo summarized it in English:

https://gonintendo.com/stories/328639-the-team-who-ported-ark-survival-evolved-to-switch-wants-to-fix

In my particular case, I have more than 300 hours, and I "love" the Nintendo Switch version... it has many flaws and bugs, which simply need work to solve. Abstraction, in addition, wants to graphically improve the game, only needs more time (and budget) to do it, something that is understandable. Maybe I like this game so much, because we play it as a family; My son, my wife, my brothers and I, we are playing ARK on Nintendo Switch since it went on the market, trying to support it... but Wildcard is doing everything possible to make me want to quit support them.

It's very sad...

In my house, on the weekend, we got together four or five people in the same room playing ARK... on Nintendo Switch. That's complicated (not impossible) to get with other versionse. We're all Nintendo Switch players ?

Can the managarmr get back it’s buffed Ice beam?

I was finally pumped to be able to get into Tek Teir without mindless Rex raising, but 8 high managarmrs barely touched the Forest Titan last night.

I understand the PVP concern. Could the reduced damage at a distance be applied only to tamed creatures, but normal to wild?

PS this was an awesome valentine event. Good work! Only wish the candy was permanent colors!

Saying that it look's more like a Easter event colour than valentines..

Ah ok I see now, yes I was looking at the forum topic version rather than the article version. On the forum version there is no Argent picture at the top as that is something specific to articles.

Only thing is, WC and Nintendo can’t come to an agreement. Big part ofthe problem is hardware. WC can’t really tell Abstraction anything until the “parents” get there stuff worked out, and WC isn’t going to make consolations if Nintendo won’t upgrade hardware.

Not trying to be overly priggish Bazookajack...  But the real story is:

Players:  A breeding event would be nice.

WC:  OK, we will give you doodz 3x breeding for 4 days and 2x taming/gathering through the weekend.

Players:  Wow, that is awesome!

WC, in the 11th hour and 59th minute:  Actually...  Naah.  No taming/gathering.

Players:  Ummm...  Why...  ?

WC:  ................................

EDIT:  Using the rationale that chocolates make 1x tames as effective as 2x tames (so therefore the cancellation of 2x is justified) is inaccurate.  It gets it close, but isn't as good sadly.  I had a really good event so far, tamed many things, some hilariously colorful stuff!  But it is the unexplained rug-pulling about the 2x that people are most likely to be bent about, and that is what I tried to convey.  I hope you understand.

Yeah sure, the chocolates are neat and all, tammed a lot of slugs over lvl 230 whit less cakes (no sorry, same as if was 2x), but, the annoying PASSIVE tames keept on 1x, so no, wasint a really good event at all if u take on accout that the Chocollate was an EXTRA item (and really limited on ammount) used besides the 2x... so sorry, I'd trade the chocollates for a 2x taming anytime for some new cool collors... missed 2 phoenix to tame ( all over 60%, due 1x) due ppl comming over and lightinging they inside my traps by pure jealousy...

Have you played the Nintendo Switch version? It's not as horrible as some people says... yes in terms of graphics is so far from the others consoles, but all the gameplay of the others is there... plus a lot of bugs of their own that ruin the experience, including unexpected closures in the worst moments, or attempts to start the game for more than half an hour (sometimes starts at the first, other times, we have to wait), to name a couple of the most annoying issues.

What Abstraction assured me, is that if it had been for them, they would not have launch the game in that state, but they could not decide the times, they were forced to launch  it incomplete; they only had six months to make the port to Nintendo Switch. They also told me that with more time, it would have been closer to the other versions, and that they have continued working on it improving it until they have seen that they don't receive any response from Wildcard... they have not received any news for more than two months about this version.

It has nothing to do with the power of Nintendo Switch, which of course is inferior to that of the other consoles, but of a studio that has not been allowed to do its job, and they don't let it be done.

Humm so they say " such as candies and chocolate will not despawn after the event concludes."

Well mine disappeared. As soon as they dropped I placed them in storage only to finally try and use them when ready and Poof they were gone. I never even got a chance to try a Box 'O Chocolates.

?

You do know that the chocolates spoil in 5 hours if not put in the fridge... So if they were in boxes/vaults they'd have simply spoilt

Has there been any talk about permanently increasing breeding rates similar to gathering rates? 3x felt like it was the way the mechanic was supposed to be. Still a challenge without being toxic.

3 times was fast therefore an event, its for a balance between a casual players and hardcore. can you imagine what the hardcores would do with 3 x on a regular basis? you can kiss goodbye to a casual player's gameplay

I’ve played every version, including mobile and Switch. The only time I haven’t experienced major problems is with a $4k+ PC.

I’m not suggesting that Abstraction isn’t getting the short-end of the stick. What I am saying is that WC isn’t telling Abstraction anything because they have no certainty, and anyone familiar with business knows you can’t go around discussing negotiations with anyone outside. Not to diminish Abstraction’s role, but it’s the same as not telling your landscaping company about what’s going on with a property you are renting. These types of negotiations are confidential and Abstraction isn’t a part of the NDAs, nor should they be at that level.

I agree, it’s no good for the players or the developer teams that could provide solutions, but I also understand that WC isn’t going to put more funding into a project for a Nintendo version if certain conditions aren’t met.
