Ranock Posted February 9, 2019 Share Posted February 9, 2019 I recently bought all the DLC and I was able to play them for one day then something was updated or something of the sort and now steam is stuck in a validation loop, that and whenever it is done validating Steam says some extinction file is corrupt. The file name is something like D5_Near.umap and it is at this file. path M:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\ARK\ShooterGame\SeekFreeContent\Maps\Extinction Has anyone had this issue and know how to fix it? IrVayne33 Posted February 11, 2020 Share Posted February 11, 2020 Had the same problem around the same time period. Was playing fine for weeks until a day after the winter update. Genesis file related buggy file. Completely delete the game and battleeye. But still the same results. Infinite validation loop. Kept my pc on for 3 days just to make sure. Found a few undeleteable files in genesis file. I believe to be the root of the problem. PS. I had tried everything mentioned on forums and YouTube. No results. I really hope they can fix it.
