I went to play ARK tonight but Steam looked at it as "uninstalled" what is your take on this and how to fix it in the future? https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-nF9S5YhqeISnWKysdUM-I-qlkuTdYte/view?usp=sharing
Volunteer Moderator invincibleqc Posted January 11, 2019 Volunteer Moderator Share Posted January 11, 2019 Is your drive added as a library folder (Steam → View → Settings → Downloads → STEAM LIBRARY FOLDERS)?
DomiDarko
Same happened to me when the game crashed and I had to shut down my computer completely because it wasn't responding at all. Had to install it again on my HDD and copy all files from my SSD ?
Spiret
Had this issue before and a simple way to fix it was to replace your appmanifest_346110.acf in the steamapps folder. I got mine from a friend that lent me his and restarted steam and it worked. Try replacing it with this one. appmanifest_346110.acf
fw2s
Same issue on my PC with my account tonight. Steam started what looked like an update for Ark. That update process hung up mid way through & would not resume. Restart PC and Steam wants to reinstall Ark, although all files are there. I ran the update through my laptop - it finished updating with no issues & can access the game as usual.
TargetOne
I can relate. This happened to me not too long ago. And I couldn't just reinstall it at the same location, Steam wouldn't recognize it and thought there wasn't enough hard disk space to install (because, with the old files still there, there wasn't). I ended up just deleting the entire installed copy and reinstalling from scratch, including all the mods. Yes, it took forever. And i was lucky in that I had a backup copy of my localprofile (with map and Explorer Note progress) on another drive. The appmanifest method above definitely sounds much easier...
