Taking Wyverns to the Manticore Arena

I've read about people using 18-20 Lightning Wyverns to defeat the Manticore. My question is, how do you get that many wyverns onto the portal? I've only been able to get 7-8 onto the portal. I'm facing them inward with their feet inside of the inner circle on the portal. What am I missing?

We place our looking inwards too. You can place their "wing thumbs" on the inner circle.

Land the first one, then slightly in front+to the side if it the next one, and walk it backwards as close as possible.

We put them as many as possible around the ring, then stuff our yuti in the middle before we place the last wyvern in the circle. You should have room to land 2-3 wyvern inside the "wyvern ring". When they are on the ground, turn them around and see where you can make room to fit one more (look in different directions and you often find room between two wyvern's heads).

For the he last ones you need to fly over, face them downwards, jump off and hope they land in the circle. You can try to use a whip too. 

If you have a tribemate and a snow owl, place a few wyvern, let your mate freeze them while you land the other ones. They should "ghost" through the frozen wyverns.

So I know people can get them in normally, I never can. I usually only do 1 run so I upload  ~8 of mine then download them. they normally stack up an I just set use AI attack on them when I download them
