Migol Posted December 21, 2018 Share Posted December 21, 2018 As per the title. My tribe and our allies have tried him twice on gamma now. The first was more a "let's see it" sort of action, we took only the ice titan and some managarmars. Ice Titan pilot DC'd, it all went to retreat mode pretty quickly. For our first "serious" attempt we took the ice titan, desert titan, and managamars, with some nearby owls to fly to and a lot of sleeping bags nearby. Also used 3 meks, had about 12 players total. This feels like it should have been enough for the boss, but in reality it wasn't anywhere close. The current patch has the titans taking a LOT more damage from the King than they used to, making us question how useful they were for the effort needed to get them. His "one shot" move is one of the cheapest things ever in an environment guaranteed to have lag. Meteors are sometimes invisible, and their craters affect flyers well above them. The corrupt spots for spawning gigas spawn their gigas way, way too fast. The whole fight felt very out of tune. Is fight meant to be done with a very specific strategy in mind? (considering trying HIGH flying platform quetz with gunners next while managamar kite as an example). Just seems like the titan nerf may have gone too far with the final boss. Pellao Posted December 21, 2018 Share Posted December 21, 2018 Completely possible, for gamma King Titan, the only things you need are the 3 Titans, their roles are as follow; Forest Titan - tank, you should stay on the King Titan or move to the element vein that spawns to defend it. You attack twice then block, you do not have to block, but basically you'll end up with between 50%-80% health left. Ice Titan - dps, you should be staying behind the King Titan shooting snowballs or meleeing it, when vein spawns you should go to defend it. You should end the fight with practically full health. Desert Titan - again same role as Ice Titan, just bite the King Titan from behind and focus your lightning on the giganotos that spawn. Should end with practically full health. For Beta, same thing as gamma except you'll need more people for vein defending as that is vital and you may need some fire power as back up such as Meks with modules on them when it charges it's fist. For Alpha, well you already have the megamek module from the beta fight, you have same roles basically except megamek just stays on the King Titan as it's practically useless on vein defending. Yes, I literally just did another beta King Titan fight with 6 other members, 3 on Titans and 4 on Meks, the Meks were for fun and just to defend vein. We tamed all 3 Titans as a group of 3 with exception of forest Titan as one member logged on. Desert Titan was tamed quickly, then we tamed ice Titan but we had a griefer messing with us, so that took like x2 of the time to tame, 40 mins. Then forest Titan was quickly dispatched in 20 mins.
