Roll rats raising question.

I have cordoned off a small bit of land with enough room for atleast 40 could fit.

 

But my babies keep dying, almost every section has grass they can eat and they only starve if I go offline. I could stay and watch them and they'd raise themselves.

But if I go offline for 40 minutes I login to a bag on the floor.

 

Anyone have this problem?

You have to PHYSICALLY put food into a babies inventory; untill 10% then they'll eat from a trough.

if they are on wander they will go around and pick food from nearby bushes

They don't wander and collect while in stasis. No one around to render them, no free food.

For most tames, yes. Beaver, roll rat, mesopethicus will feed

Grab them with a karkinos, hold them over the bushes until 50% full (throw away narcos, stimberries, mushrooms), and most roll rats should survive baby stage this way.

I have an alt online 24/7 who keeps areas loaded for me, so I can go do other things.

I've had babies die on me... with food inside them, and food in troughs, only when the area isnt loaded.

I'm afraid you may have to camp near them to keep them alive.
