Why announce a date when you can't deliver

Why say a release date for a dlc when half the platforms that have ark can't play it because you can't be bothered to get your lazy asses up and work on the dlc instead of releasing pointless events like the arkeology event and the extinction chronicles event. This is why the dlc is late

Because console sucks.

No Worries consolers, really what the console delay means is they are "beta" testing it on PC users, there will likely be several times a day hotfixes for the next week.  Since Xbox and PS4 don't allow patches to publish as quickly as they can push them on PC it's much easier to just let all the bugs get fixed in the first week and push out a big update for console.  You can generally blame the Microsoft/Sony for how they control patches.

Well the concept is to not hurt the console image by having buggy broken games and patch releases. However, in reality... lol XD

They could have actually focused on the dlc instead of stupid events that are just skins that look like trash

No, they should continue to deliver on the main game. Not everyone will have Extinction or a season pass so they need to ensure they cater for the majority and not the minority.

I very much doubt that the events you have mentioned actually delayed Extinction as these are events that they do continuously so wont have used much developer time.

Its frustrating but DLC is rarely on time as there are always unforeseen bugs etc.

It will come, just be patient.

Didn't we miss out on Halloween just so that we could focus on the dlc instead of stupid events that are just skins that look like console trash? ?

Not sure on that, but to add some code that they have used in previous times I doubt would have been a difficult or time consuming implementation. However, I am only assuming here and could be completely wrong.

My main point though is that DLC isnt the most important thing for them to work on in my opinion. They should continue to develop, fix, evolve the base game with a view on DLC being progressed alongside.

Things happen.  You find a mistake, you think up a new idea, or whatever.

As for why announce a date?  You have to set goals, and they are running a business.  If there is just a sudden release one day sales would not be what they could have been.  If sales are not good, no more game.

Let the process happen ?

Except that every new patch submitted to consoles has to go through whole certification process again. So consoles either get a buggy version later than PCs or slightly patched one very much later.
