New Server event is up!

Acolytes of Olmec

They’ve returned… You’ve heard the stories left behind by the old tribes that have come and gone, you’ve seen the scars this mysterious group has wrought on the world from the last time they emerged from the shadows. The old tribes had their own names for them. The pirate tribe of the blue obelisk described them as “Sailors of the Sky Kraken.” The sand tribe called them the “Children of Set. The royal tribe, thinking they were safe in their castle on the hill, they called them the “Lowland’s Bane.” The swamp tribe called them “The Flood of Blood.” The tribe in the plains of the red obelisk had an even more ominous name for them, though. They called them the “Harbingers of Ragnarok.”

You’ve heard whispers of some of their banners appearing around the world, displayed in odd places with no other indication of anyone having been there. Most people, including your own tribe, had dismissed them as copycats, deranged or attention hungry frauds just seeking to get others riled up. But you’ve just heard a disturbing report from the old castle ruins. Dozens of the old cult’s banners have suddenly appeared all over the ruins and a strange red barrier has shown up around the area. Your scouts have reported the sound of chanting coming from within the old stone walls and the emergence of heavy fortifications around the ruins.

While the scraps and clips of this land’s history aren’t enough to make it clear exactly what you’re up against, you know it’s up to you and your tribe to stop them. Whatever they seek to bring to your lands, it can’t be good for you and your kin. Time is short and you need a plan. If the cult has holed up in the old royal tribe’s castle, perhaps the answer to how to bring down that red energy barrier and begin your assault lies with the other old tribes...

Event Details:

So, a strange faction seems to have taken over the castle and is planning something nefarious unless you, the players, can stop them! This event will run for about 1 month and give folks a chance at some above max level rare dinos, some great loot like weapons, armor, and boss summoners, and lots of XP. Each week will reveal some more information about the mysterious Acolytes of Olmec and each week that passes will bring the map one step closer to something ominous! If the acolytes are not stopped by the end of the event this will trigger a second event which will affect everyone on the server. There are clues to help you along the way, scattered throughout the map (the story content at the top of this post gives you a clue as to where they are). If you find a clue and figure out the clue's answer, message me on Discord with the answer and it will cause things to happen in-game which will make your quest easier.

This is going to be an awesome event and pretty dangerous! You can team up with other tribes or fight each other for the chance to get the loot for yourselves, the choice is yours. Just remember, the clock is ticking...

The server event was a blast and we handed out some great loot. One of the side effects was a "Portal to the realm of Olmec" which is Aberration. Our server is now clustered, Ragnarok and Aberration, both with all the same mods and settings. We will be adding Extinction when it comes out as well for a 3 cluster server.
