Enforcement Action - 24th of July

Enforcement

  • Enforcement

Since our last enforcement post in May, we have been hard at work ensuring that the Code of Conduct is adhered to on our Official servers.  We have shifted away from weekly enforcement actions in favor of on-demand enforcement.  Here are some of the things we have been up to:

+ Investigated over 1000 reports from players
+ Performed 500+ enforcement actions such as structure removals, tribe wipes, etc
+ Banned approximately 250 players for various breaches of the Code of Conduct
+ Wiped over 50 tribes from ARK

Today we will need to temporarily prevent join access to several of our Official Servers as we work to enforce our Code of Conduct. We realize the effect this downtime may have on our players and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Unfortunately, as we work to enforce our policies and take action against players and tribes that are not willing to follow the rules server outages are a necessary action that must occasionally take place for the betterment of the player experience as a whole.

Today’s action will consist of the removal of structures, dinos, and items. In this instance, the violations include intent to abuse and abuse of game exploits. Continued violations of our Code of Conduct will result in further enforcement action.

The downtime has begun at the time of this post and we expect this to last for 1 - 3 hours. The servers affected by today’s enforcement action can be found here:

Please ensure that when playing our game, you abide by our Code of Conduct and if you would like to make a report, you can do so here for PC or contact our Support team for consoles.

To be clear, cheating in ARK will not be tolerated. We do not take our responses and actions lightly and have put much thought and deliberation into how we would best enforce our policies. We will continue to diligently monitor our game for rule breakers, cheaters, and all around “bad actors” and will continue to commit resources to implement new and better solutions related to detecting and removing those who are playing unfairly.

We realize that innocent players will occasionally be impacted by enforcement of our Code of Conduct. Unfortunately, there is no perfect “silver bullet” solution as we work to improve our game in this regard. We apologize for any loss and inconvenience that this may cause, but feel that it is a necessary side effect of enforcing our rules. We will continue to do our best to ensure that ARK remains a fair, fun, and competitive environment for all.

Thank you for your continued trust, patience and ongoing support, Survivors!
