Jolliano
Hey there, i want to get a Mosa with a platform and build an underwater Tek base on it with vacuum comp. Just wondering if its still a thing that waterdinos die instantly if they are no longer in water. Vacuum comps may cause them to die when they are in contact with those dinos. An easy way out of this would be to give waterdinos kind of a drowneffect... so you are still able to react and little air-contacts dont kill them instantly. Jolliano
for this drowning issue i have abandoned the sea for a long time, seeing my first mantas get killed before reaching the base. so plz dont blame me if its allready fixed long time ago
Aushegun
I just tamed mantas for the first time last week, and 3 of them died before even getting back to base, as they ran aground and instantly died. So I don't think the issue has been fixed. I would not risk it with a Mosa.
Jolliano
hmm, thats pretty disappointing. hasnt this been a problem for over a year? Why should fishes die instantly... they can hold breath as well... otherwise every fisher would get dead fishes as soon as he pulls em out of water. ishootpaint
Mantas seem to die from it easier than most. I get my plesi through some pretty shallow water sometimes and im always holding my breath but it hasnt died yet.
Jolliano
whats even more unfortunate is the fact that it isnt a fish anyways but a large lizard... it should have an oxy-stat
Demerus
gotta love those game mechanics.
badhacker74
I have Mosas and Whales that constantly stick their heads/bodies into my vac compartment base and there are no issues with it...
Wazzamaniac
Its mostly just mantas because they have a mechanic where they can go on land at the cost of being damaged a huge amount per second. Unfortunately its not only ridden and forgetting a mantas on follow when going to shore will cause it to continue following you and dying. Ive also had one die because it was following my raft (i left a raft in the middle of my water pen and had all my dinos follow it so they didnt scatter if they got attacked). Came back to a death msg and a manta corpse about 6 meters in the air above the water
Jolliano
hey badhacker, can you post a screeny of your mosa? i have a specific build in mind and want to see if its close to yours or if your vac parts are kind of higher than the plattform level
Ryuk
I just stay out of the water completely because of this kind of thing haha. I don't have any trust in the devs fixing issues. I see random wild water creatures like ichys, mantas and sharks instantly die when they come to the surface all the time. The ocean and most of the stuff in it is just cancer anyway. stargatedalek
It only happens to mantas because of their jump abilities. I've run plenty of swimmers completely aground and I've never had one die from it. I think all wild swimmers act like mantas, plenty of dead ichthys just for swimming into the surface, meanwhile I've actually managed to get some stuck on land and they were fine.
