Can you close a giant trap door whilst flying on a tame?

Title really. Wondering if i can use a giant trap door / hatchframe to exit and enter my base without dismounting?

Apologies if there is another thread about this - I did search but couldn't find anything.

You can close doors on flying mounts, but it's a bit tricky since E is both the open/close and dismount button.

Fly really really close to it, basically ram yourself against the gate, the press E once and hope that the gate close and you didn't dismount.

Thanks. I thought I'd ask as I tried it a few times and couldn't get the prompt to appear so ended up dismounting into a spike wall. I got stuck and had to dc.

that hatch frame.....you have to have master skills to close that thing with out dismounting, I wish a remote control key pad was added to the game.

OP yes you can open/close mid air but like others have said you basically gotta ram your face into the door

There IS a remote keypad.. Pincode your doors and go to an active keypad and type in the door pin for Open/Close on the keypad.. Cant do it while mounted though. Good for remotely closing doors that are out of reach.

Same with most doors / gates: Make sure your character is touching the door. Clip the dinos head through until where you are mounted would be able to reach it

I just wish the devs would make a new button for interacting with doors whilst on mounts, or making the dismount button something other than E (the same as interact)

I think they were referring to a garage door opener type device... which would be cool. ?

3rd person view. Have the bird face perpendicular to the door. Move the camera a bit, so your character is looking at the door. Then click E. Practice when you aren't in danger.
