Returning Players

Its been nearly two years since we played Ark. (Theres 6 of us)

After buying Conan we decided we'd give ark another go. We joined a new 'Fresh' Sever 350 days old.

We've been on the sever 3days and everything we've built has been destroyed daily with players calling over and killing us every couple of hours. We tried relocating everytime to no avail. We cant  tame anything as it keeps getting killed even walling off with spikes doesnt work. Of course we all have the disease aswell and leveling up no longer gets rid of it :(

What I asking is what are we doing wrong? Or is it a case we've been gone for too long and there is no point in returning as players are too strong now.

Any advice is appreciated as we're happy to fight and try to survive but we're wondering is there any new sever cluster for newer players or whats the story. Also whats the best way to survive now and level up quick.

Thanks :)

Try the new small tribe servers. They are only a few weeks old, pvp official, and you're on more of an even playing field since your tribe fits that perfectly (max tribe size is 6 with no allowance of alliances). Last I heard they disabled the transfers on them, but dont know if it is a permanent action since they didn't say much about it. Survivor notes are always best to level up and if you are on a mod map without the notes, kill alphas (get a boat, arrows, and one alpha chasing you in the water while you sail down the beach), and once you are a high enough level unlock and make the grinder. Throw stone and wood in it non stop and before you know it you are a high enough level to actually do some stuff. As far as the base goes, hide your valuables away from the main base until you are able to unlock turrets (a good idea is to make a false raided base with broken walls and use pillars to sink a foundation, add a morter and pestel, then add another foundation on top of it to hide them). Dont tame more than you need and always remember base > tames. Spend 3:1 of your time working on your base/resource farming over taming so that if you get raided and all of your tames are killed during the start up its not like you've lost everything. Also for the love of god build a roof, even if its just thatch, so that people cant just snipe your tames from afar and have to actually get up close to do any harm. Dont go the noob behemoth gate dino storage method. Matter of fact stay away from behemoth gates for as long as possible since it only takes 1 c4 to blow a giga sized hole in the stone ones. Use those same resources to actually make walls. Less will get destroyed that way since people usually just blow a small 1 person sized hole. Less to repair so more time to build. Those are just tips that come off of the top of my head since that's the rules we use to follow when starting up on a new server. Also a tip to keep in mind, dont put parasaur on alert mode if you are trying to hide. It literally tells anyone passing by "hey there's a base here with live tames so it hasn't been raided yet"

Hide stuff around the map until you get built upand build a small hidden hut with a smithy. Theres various different survival methods you can do until you gain the resources to start building up.
