SallyAnn
They look amazing and definitely fill a perfect niche for a low/mid level survivor that wouldn't be able to survive and easily tame a mammoth. Mobile Smithy is the new mechanic being tested I guess with this one? Plus I wonder if their dams contain anything exciting.

Administrator Jatheish Posted February 24, 2016 Author Administrator Share Posted February 24, 2016 The caves and bosses are delayed. Bosses are delayed because we still have a technical issue with cave we were hoping to resolve but weren't able to. (Low level rendering issue, it'll need some more profiling from the engineers before it's ready to go out, the caves that is -> which inevitably delays the bosses)

What I got out of it, it might have something to do with loading in the initial shapes. Anyone ells really hoping they are trying to reduce the load time when entering the cave? Falloutzz81
Looking forward to tame the beaver this evening. Only biggest question is: when will the gathering bug be fixed. A wood chopping beaver is Nice but just like the mammoth unusable if it cant chop trees cause off the bug.

There is a bug with harvesting on some servers with certain dinos (mammoth, Anky, Doed), it's one of our biggest bug threads, sadly the Team can't reproduce it on a test server to be fixed quickly

Falloutzz81
Nice to hear its being looked after. Unfortunatly sad that it cant be reproduced in testings to find the sollution. I will write down the next days/weeks when, and after what actions the error occurs and send the rapport to support. maybee it helps to reproduce the isuee maybee not but cant harm

I know they can't just add all big badass dinosaurs, but I really think they can come up with somethin better than a damn beaver and kangaroo. As far as the gallimimus I like it for the fact that it actually fits in with all the other animals for one and two I like that it can carry 3 people and its somethin that we can shoot from and haul ass at the same time. Also I get to travel on land faster because I get bored flying everywhere b/c you miss out on a lot. They choose what they feel works best for the specific role they want filled in. In this case a creature that is very adept at gathering wood. What pops to mind almost instantaneously? A beaver. Lucky enough, Castoroides is a prehistoric relative of the modern day beaver, so they chose to use that. As for the Procoptodon, they seem to want some Australian megafauna. Hence the Thylacoleo as well. Plus, the Procoptodon is also a very adept base raider. That's what they seemed to have in mind for it, and it really works well. Plus, I don't think calling this game a 'dinosaur game' really works. We have marine reptiles, ice age mammals, dinosaurs, pterosaurs, etc... It's a prehistoric game for sure, but dinosaur? Probably one of the main selling points, yes, but definitely isn't solely a dinosaur game.

BasiliskEvolved
Guys quit complaining. "oooh its not a dinosaur, it sucks" is the worst reason to hate it ever. Sure it gets wood like a mammoth, but once saddled it is literally a living smithy. That is very useful if you need to repair armor on the go. UDGxKnight
Excited to see this creature make it to xbox along with more ways to troll friends lol. To all those who complain whenever the devs add something they don't think belongs just remember this isn't your game. This game is about extinct creatures of all shapes and sizes, if it was just dinosaurs everyone would complain and be like, "Where are the saber cats?," same if it was just ice age creatures with no dinos. I personally think there should be more giant bugs, mammals, and definitely more amphibians even with all the ones still planned. Anyway that got off topic, needless to say, if a creature fits into the "extinct" prehistoric creature quota then it belongs in the game and has a place and it doesn't matter if it is as simple as a giant leech to a more complicated creature like the Titanosaur. I appreciate every creature added to the game for the ambiance and fun to be had with each new thing, and when the ecosystems are more flushed out and interactions with creatures both human and other creatures is tweaked I think everyone will appreciate the oddities more. SebastianB
Wow, just tamed a level 16 one. This is definitly a high end mount. It gathers wood and berry like crazy, doesn't even have to stop running while chopping the trees or bushes. Oh and it can carry fiber, thatch, wood like crazy. So gathering 1000 wood with a mammoth in minutes? I bet this guy is atleast twice as fast while carrying more wood.
xxxmtndewmexxx
Just curious, seeing that this is being referred to as a mobile smithy, Will this fix the issue of us not being able to build our high end saddles that need more slots than our smithy currently has? SebastianB
Inventory of beaver is weigth based, so ... it depends i guess? Though i would think that any saddle thats hitting the slot limit on smithy due to mats would hit the weightlimit aswell even if skilled for weight. You can put all the items for it in a vault, have the beaver in between you in the vault, Hit transfer all when in the vault so everything is transported into your inventory, then go to beaver and hit transfer all, it will pass the weight limit
