Boubbin
I'm looking at my bp's and looks like I'm missing legs and boots from flak. I got decent chitin Pants and Boots bp for 300 armor and 200 durability. With respec+craftingskill could yield something like ~400 armor items. Should i still use primitive flak on pants/boots? I'm on Abberration pvp but rarely fight with anybody (almost never). My fights are against bosses and random wild dino encounters. I got all the chitin in the world.. Wazzamaniac
Of course use your chitin! As a bonus, I would also bring a pair of pliers and a bunch of chitin with me. So if your armor gets beaten up by turrets or fights, you could repair it on the go! (mats would weigh way less than ingots for flak repair) Sidenote- Damn, thats really solid blueprints you have there.
Sharpshot879
Yeah definitely 1. It’s easier to repair on the go with pliers/ argies 2. It’s stronger 3. In my opinion it looks cooler

Most pieces are cool, I just don't like the legs as much. The chestplate and gloves are awesome though
DaGoodNamesWereTaken
200 dura for armor to me is super low. I don't generally go for armor I go for dura. We about 400+ dura apprentice flak we use. If you can get to the surface, you should get the flak fairly quick I had 350 plus flak bps in about a few days of faming the surface.

Dura doesnt matter if you can repair your armor nearly infinitely without needing a smithy.
Boubbin
yeah, been running the surface naked with 200% movement speed. I took prolly like 100-150 drops and i stopped when i got spino saddle bp. Maybe i should return running it again after we have done some bosses. Dont be distracted by armor stat, durability stat matters more, 150 armor is enough to block 95% of damage, but its better to have like 400 dura to stay protected longer

No point in awesome armor stats if your armor breaks too quickly.
Sharpshot879
Yeah I get the durability worry but with chitin you don’t have to carry metal ingots around constantly and just find some insects for quick repairs.

Dura is reason why no one uses Tek armor, and even mega tribes mostly stick with quality flak.

danjocon
Yeah dura is all that matters on armor. The idea is that no matter what the armor value is on your flak, it doesn't matter cause when it breaks you die.
