Melcreif
Trying to level up quickly to get to level 80. I've been mass producing rafts while taking a broth of enlightenment. It's great but a bummer to thow away all those rafts. Wondering if we make a grinder can we grind those rafts? I'm asking since there isn't any other way to get back any of the resources once they are created.
Migol
Don't know about grinding rafts for mats, but honestly if you want to level and have the capability to make a grinder, the best bet is to simply make the grinder(plural if you can), get a ton of wood with mammoth/beaver/whatever, and grind the wood to thatch. It gets you a lot of exp quickly, especially if combined with the various exp bonuses.
BigRed1227
I'm not sure you can grind them tbh. They are counted as a tame so it might be like chucking a lystro into the meat grinder? Get yourself a chem bench any way possible. Grab the mats and have someone make it for u. If you're pve, most ppl will help. Then start knocking out stacks and stacks of narcotics. Other way I have found to easily level is get on a giga and have someone aggro wyverns to you. Easily done on rag. Especially with the event and you are taking the broth, maybe an hours worth of work
BigRed1227
Just now, onedudesmind said: you can grind up anything for mats, I think the grinder also gives a better ratio then just demolishing but i'm not sure on that one. Grinder gives a quarter of the mats back. Demolishing gives half

Guest DJRone89
The indy grinder gives 1 xp per wood grind (to thatch) and 2 xp per 2x stone grind (to flint). Just fill it up with wood and grind it all to thatch to net yourself up to 12k xp. If you have another person sit on a mount while you are grinding the wood, all the shared xp (50%) will go to that mount instead of the tribe member. With multiple grinders, it’s a great way to quick level dinos using the above method.

Unfortunately you can't demolish a raft and get the mats back. It just destroys it...
CaptoBraunch
the grinder can't grind rafts, but you won't want to make rafts anymore anyways, the xp from just grinding wood and stone will far eclipse the crafting. Plus you can turn the flint from the previous batch into bullets and get all that xp concurrently. Hit an explorer note, Fire up 2 chem benches full of slot-perfect narcotic batches, poop on the toilet, hop in a tek sleeping pod, and wake up as chuck norris. Melcreif
Ok makes sense thank you. We'll just work on gathering that 2000 crystal which will be the hardest part. We are on Rag so is there a good place to drop an Ank and have him go to work or do we pretty much need to circle the map?
OMCWILDCAT
There's an ice cave just a little south of vikings bay (next to the lake at the top of the mountain). You should be able to take an anky around with little trouble. The bears wont aggro unless you get very close. There's also the cave under the ice lake in the murder snow that has a good amount of crystal.

I forgot there is tons of crystal there. Hmm Never thought of taking an ank there though. Would need to clear the bears out first I think... OMCWILDCAT
Not down in the cave where the drops are. There's another entrance to that cave to the west. Its hard to miss as it has 4 or 5 entrances with large icicles hanging. It has oil nodes and crystal all over the place.

Would it make more sense to take an ank that route with the danger of all those high level bears? I guess I could take a Thylo as well for escort just in case... I don't think the really high level bears spawn up in that area. You can usually just keep enough distance from them to not have them aggro. A decent lvl anky can usually handle them anyway, if you time your swings correctly you will keep them knocked back out of attack range.

I wasn't sure if the bears there were high level or not so I'll check it out. I usually go in through the fly entrance so haven't been that other way in forever. Thanks!
