air conditioner help

ok so my problem is that I have made an air conditioner to help hatch the eggs that have been fertilised. but the problem is, is that it requires the batteries from aberration. so when I spawned 1 in it did but it spawned it uncharged. I could really use the air conditioner but I don't know what to do. any help would be welcome about how to get it running. thank you

Have you tried using a generator instead?

Just get the cable from the generator close to the AC unit, then put a connection box at the end.  If your generator is running you should see a thin grey line appear that runs from the connection box to the AC unit (if the box is within a couple of foundations of the AC).

ok will try

If you want to use the charge batteries, you can charge them on a charge node.  If you're having trouble with generators, be sure to use an outlet with your cables.  (make sure you're snapping the cable to the generator).

Is this why there is a spot to place something inside the ac unit? I wasn’t sure if it was always there and I never payed attention or if it was a new thing.

For electricity you have 3 options in ARK since Aberration (before it was 2):

  • charge batteries from Abberation directly in the appropriate slots of the energy consuming item (fridge, a/c etc.) https://ark.gamepedia.com/Charge_Battery_(Aberration)
  • power generator fueled by gasoline. https://ark.gamepedia.com/Electrical_Generator
    • Place the generator
    • Connect cables to the generator (you can also place the cables first and then snap the generator to it - your choice) https://ark.gamepedia.com/Straight_Electrical_Cable
    • Place an outlet on the end of one of the cable-segments (can also be in between 2 cables where they connect to each other if you placed more than one cable) https://ark.gamepedia.com/Electrical_Outlet
    • Place the Power-consuming item close to the outlet
    • Now a thin cable will connect from the outlet to the Fridge / A/C etc.
    • The range between outlet and consumer is about 2-3 foundations wide i think - might be a little more - but the closer it is the better it looks since those cables are ugly as f*** if they cross through walkways ;)
  • TEK generator fueled by element (endgame stuff) https://ark.gamepedia.com/Tek_Generator
    • Place the generator
    • Put element in and start it up
    • No wires or outlets are needed
    • All power using stuff in a certain range (think of a big sphere around it) will get wireless power (yes in ark wireless power is actually a thing) :)
    • You can change the range of the TEK generator - the bigger you set it the more element it will consume
