Question about quality

So I was playing a couple days ago and I killed an Alfa raptor and got a ramshackle hide shirt and I was wondering, what’s the difference between primitive and ramshackle? Also how can I upgrade the items I already have?

You get BP's from the loot drops and the difference is the damage and durability. so ramshackle hide shirt will have better armor and durability than the primitive one

Do not care about the color or name of the item, like "ramshackle". The name and color change with a certain quality of the item, however there is a huge overlap in the qualities. You can get a primitive BP that is way better than a ramshackle. Just look at the numbers like weapon damage, armor, durability, insulation.

For an extreme example: The worst item above primitive quality i got was a apprentice (blue) rex saddle with 27 armor. 25 armor is the base quality you can craft, when you learn the engram youself.

The best primitive saddle i ever found had 49 armor and it was much cheaper on resources than the apprentice one.

Usually, better color means better quality, but it's not always the case.

the diffrent type ram, journyman, apprentice mastercraft, and acendent work up in duribuility. meaning u can use them for longer before breaking. but in no way means they work better. u can get ram stuff that is better then mastercraft % wise but it will break before mastercraft would.
