Faivon
So ... I'm new to this map and I noticed something out of ordinary. Usually metal veins are on flat ground and on this map a lot of metal veins are placed on a vertical cliff. How do you mine those? Fly on top of quetz and mine 'em? botterle
If you think its worth the effort then do it, i just leave it and only take the ones on the ground.
Faivon
Honestly? Nope; But the ones on the ground are scattered all over the place. Any good place to mine metal besides the ones near Viking Bay?

If possible maybe you can build ramps kind of like the Egyptians used when constructing the pyramids. May have to destroy them every time though to make sure nodes respawn. That is of course if you are a single player, if you have a tribe mate he can fly the Quetz while you sit on the Anky, He grabs it and fly's to the nodes and you crush with the Anky or vice versa. You can get more metal that way too since the weight will be taken on by the Quetzal.

Any good place to mine metal besides the ones near Viking Bay? Obsidian island has a bunch of metal as well as obsidian. It's like herb island on the island map as far as creatures. It is located at 63.1 16.9. I usually take an Anky train around there in the morning and clear 5k ings in about 45 minutes to an hour (1600 and 1400 weight Anky with 100% imprint and 447 melee just to give you an idea of what I am working with). When the desert opens (for us console players) there is a huge metal resource area there, in what looks to be the 80 64 area. https://ark.gamepedia.com/Explorer_Map_(Ragnarok) https://ark.gamepedia.com/Resource_Map_(Ragnarok) you can actually choose the resource you want to find and it gives coordinates with this map. I'll compare with the other locations 11 hours ago, yekrucifixion187 said: Obsidian island has a bunch of metal as well as obsidian. It's like herb island on the island map as far as creatures. ManGorilla
Grab a quetzal and have fun or use grappling hooks to get on top and lower your self, hitting all the nodes. I use to farm the metal nodes on the north shore with pillars at night early game with a few hooks. #raftlife
