DinoDash
Metal is obviously very important for advancement in ark, and a steady supply of it is necessary throughout the game. Yet I can’t find any in the fertile lake area, then again all I have for scouting are raptors. Usually in such a situation I would tame a ptera and find metal that way, but that is not an option. Ground scouting is very hard on aberration because of the difficult terrain and deadly predators that lurk around every corner. So what is the best way of getting metal on aberration? Hopefully I don’t have to leave the fertile lake...
LadyCrescent
I’m not sure exactly where you’re set up, but there’s a tunnel right around 16.9 / 23.7 that’s packed with metal rocks. The Aberration rocks look different than the traditional metal nodes, more like stalagmites with high metal yield. That’s been the best spot I’ve found; I hope it helps. Bonestorm
there is very little metal in fertile lake, the overlook is overflowing with metal though, black rocks with blue veins in them are what you are looking for.
Ranger1
Don't overlook the light colored, round river rocks though. They contain a surprising amount of metal.
anubis3691
There's tons of metal... Buuut... Your not going to like where it's at..
DinoDash
This is very helpful, a small supply should suffice at first until I get more mobile and can reach higher metal concentrations.
Miiyuki
Luminous biome (Blue glowing one) almost all rock with blue glow is metal nodes, so there is literally tons of metal in there
PuffyPony
There are some near the Upper (Lower?) Mushroom Forest spawn, at the lake near the Glowtail cave. Three rich metal nodes, one under the ruined bridge and two on the island in the pond
ClamsJager
head into the bioluminescent zone, metal rocks have a blue streak in them and are easy to get in and out of the zone. we walk two crabs down with 2 anky;s.
MewMasterBro
There's metal underwater at fertile lake 3, it's hard to find metal so if I was you go to the dark area tame an anky then bring it to the lake for metal farming.

It can use the natural zip lines along with whatever other zip lines you create and the weight reduction is amazing for these plus the fall damage when you miss your step on a cliff. Aside from that I know of a few of the mentioned rich metal nodes and quite a few others most don't seem to know about as well. Find the your way down to a ramp entrance to the blue zone and you should be able to farm enough metal in a short period of time.

Ditch the raptors for dogs ( ravagers ). They tame out with great weight plus like shadow said they have weight reduction for raw materials. So once you do find a metal node to harvest you can actually carry it home.

You're going to have to change your picture from a Thyla before to much longer Slack.
