The problem lies in the 30 seconds cooldown, on which your 15000 health dinosaurs is going to be pushed to death faster then the 21000 one.

We swap out our Theri's as their health drops, we only have 9 on it at one time, prevents Dragon from flying all over the place. Once he lands he stays put for us. Once you have 19 Theri's all pushing at its feet, he jumps/ flies all over the place. We usually have it dead on the second landing.

Will give that a spin next time.
We usually force it to fly so we can have the cakes kick in to heal us all up :P

Never thought of it that way :)

It is nice to be able to disengage from the fight and ride over to get a Fresh Theri as needed.

The only time things get exciting is when he lands in the middle of 10 passive Theri's sitting at spawn in.

But you whistle attack and he pops right up and away.

Interesting, wonder of the flee mechanic on Dragon is the same with Manticore? Right now on rag the dragon stays put with 14 claws hacking away until it dies.

Manti flies up 2-3 times but has 19 max dinos biting it. Wonder if we put less dinos it will fly less at the cost of DPS? Or is the AI programmed for flight at burst DPS? This information is goldddddd if we can find out somehow..

yes it does. if you crowd it in simulating the old pinning it takes off. Even on SE. we do hard manti with 10 rexes even with only 3 riders and nuke him. rexes are only 414m 11.2k hp. all it has take us for any hard boss.

This thought of the Dragon mechanic, flying away if too many are bunched up on him, is solely based on experience and observation over countless battles on Legacy and New servers.

The problem with unridden Dino's is they push all the way into the Dragon (all Bosses for that matter) and when you have 19 of anything nipping at its legs up close, POP up he goes. (New anti-pin code mabye?)

If you back off with only 10 riders NOT pushing in all the way, he has a HUGE hitbox, then he sits there and just spins around dealing damage more evenly around to everyone.

If only there was a way to make unridden dinos stand back at the edge of the hitbox, fights would be over in 4-5 minutes.

there is boss, have em follow and let the riders engage first and protect the zone. this is how we do it. we utilize it on manticore and have now figured out positioning to bait him on down and keep him down a long long time by blocking.

You're the same kind of person as SmallPondFish I take it?

dont know who or what smallpondfish supposed to be, but it that is insult, zou insulted yourself for boosting that you are some super player and yet you play pve (dedicated servers are pve even if players pretend  they are pvp). pve in ark is 0 skill, all grind

ps:
i usually like your comments, so lets not push this further
