Vishimtar
My tribe has recently finished Gamma Broodmother after getting our rex line started. We're farming easy broodmother with 13 25k hp 500-600% melee rexes and one 260 yuty. We've been doing brood with two riders but can have up to four for Mega. How should we approach Gamma Megapithecus? Is it mostly straightforward tank n spank like Brood?
Brayn
There's only two dangers now when fighting the ape since his boulder no longer hurts riders. 1. The extreme cold. Have good fur. Med brews and hand torches can be brought until you're comfortable that yor fur is good enough. 2. Insta death pit. Your rexes can fall off the starter bridge and die instantly. Upon entering have everyone and all yor rexes back away from the bridge as far as possible. Have one person on a rex cross the bridge until they can see the boss. Dismount and shoot it once with a pistol or whatever. Run back to the group. Wait until the boss gets a few foundations distance from the edge and start chomping. Alpha took us about 2 minutes with similar rexes to yours. It's a much easier fight than brood.

I agree with this. Either pull all the Rexs back a bit behind the spawn point or at least leave them where they spawn, and have one player on a mount go and attract the attention of the Mega. Once you've got it's attention run back to the group and wait for the monkey to arrive. All the fighting will be done there and very little to no risk of derpy Rexs falling off the cliff. The Center Megapithecus is still using old setting (and kills players).
Xzibit
14 rexes with 30k+ and 670m+ will beat alpha monkey? On the Island)

Crows
5 minutes ago, Xzibit said: 14 rexes with 30k+ and 670m+ will beat alpha monkey? On the Island) Well me and my allies killed Alpha Mega on the Island the other day with about 11 Rex's and 1 Yuty, 10 riders, and we waited at the start for him to cross the bridge then sort of surrounded him. The Rex's health ranged from 25k to 50k and 500% damage to 800%+, so it's a lot more smoother now that he doesn't kill the rider with his boulder anymore. Xzibit
Cool, so i need Yuty and the point will be done. Thx!
Wazzamaniac
Monkey on any difficulty is nothing to worry about. We use 15 rexes with 25-30k hp and 570-640% melee plus a yuty and 4 riders for alpha. Have everyone back up into the trees behind the teleporter, then get the yuty rider to go kite the monkey (dont use a rex. its slow and has a bad turn radius, you might get thrown in the pit on the right of the bridge). Have the monkey get as close as possible to the trees before whistling rexes. We lose about only 10k hp during the fight. Remember, the death pit is on the right of the bridge, not anywhere else!! We did this as suggested and the fight was a piece of cake.
