Doaner
So I really like ARK and I run it on a Mac. The Mac version has some problems that the PC version doesn't. Water not being water and not always being patched with the PC version are just 2 of them. I started using a service nVidia Gforce Now - that runs games on a cloud server and streams you just the stuff you need to play. You can play any PC game on your Mac. I tried it out (it's in beta) and ARK runs amazingly well on it. I can run it on Epic graphics and and all the problems I've had with ARK disappear. It does have 3 downsides. First being that it takes pretty steady bandwidth. Next it doesn't use your local mods so if you have a server with mods it has to fresh download them from scratch. Last, it will cost a monthly fee to use in the future. It's free while in beta. This might not be for everyone but for me, using an older Mac (2013) but have a ton of bandwidth (google fiber) it was the perfect solution until they get ARK running on Mac as well as it runs on my buddies PC.
