Did some more breeding last night... so. many .hyaenodons. Still no mutations on them, but I've almost got the perfect breeding pair for the stats I've collected - I think they will come out to be level 232. I need to find a higher HP roll.

I also hatched a few Argys and already got red wing tip mutation! I've only hatched ~8 eggs, compared to 20, maybe 30+ hyaenodons that have been birthed... So that brings up a question or two:

> does anyone know if certain animals are more prone to mutations (something in the code that gives some animals have a higher chance at mutations)? Or is it all just an equal % based and luck?

> does anyone know if certain mutations are more common than others? Or is it all just an equal % based and luck?

Anyone have any info on these questions?

I bred a bunch more Hyaenodons the last couple days, still no mutations. Bred my Thylacoleos twice and already have a lite green-ish fur mutation...

Your thylas are beautiful emoji7.png

Thank you.

I play Single Player, so I have a 600 tame limit.  Over the summer, I literally bred and raised over 600 Thylas, if not more.  Near the end, I was getting such horrible lag, that I ended up killing off all but my favorite dozen colored Thylas.

But I started a new character in September, and over the weekend got back into breeding for color mutations.  I got this beauty, but not long after taking the screen shot, the game crashed and rolled me back. So I lost my "Pink Panther". All I have is this single screen shot to remember it by.

Its this reason right here that I now force a server save on single player, when I get mutations. Lost a few goodies recently. Main one was a complete black hyeanadon, while it was a natural colour and not mutated I could try again with same parents, but still sucked the same. Sucks you lost your pink thylo :(

Sorry to keep quoting myself, but just wanted to share that this weekend my Hyaenodon mutations went kind of crazy (compared to the last week or more). I'll try and get some screenshots here soon. Unfortunately nothing I am too thrilled about just yet (color wise).

The latest Thyla posts are awesome. I hope I get something more soon with mine. Still only that one mutation.

Used to have loads of colour mutations on official ps4 pve servers.  Started our own private rag server so starting out again on the breeding and mutations.  Quick question though, have they changed the colours as some of the wild dinos and non mutations we have for already look amazing and I've never seen on old officials

I have been asking the same thing for the last couple months.

Back when I first started playing the game (march this year)  It seemed like the only "colorful" Wild dino was the occasional blue Doed.

But now I see some seriously cool colors on Wild dinos! For example the Thylas used to only be Black, Brown, Grey and Orange. Now I find them in White, Tan, and Dark Red. Plus the belly colors are a lot more varied on wild dinos.

Personally, I love it! It would be cool if the in game code created colors based on a numerical format, so that literally there would be hundreds of different greens or blue or red colors that a dino could get with a color mutation.

As it is, I love getting the color mutations that are possible. Just wish I could get some Bright Red body mutations. Just so hard for me to get.

SO an AMAZING turn of events last night!   By the grace of ARK gods, I was blessed with another Pink Panther baby born!!!!  I also had twins of the Neon Belly baby born as well.

I can't believe my luck. It is like ARK gods saw how sad they made me when I lost the originals due to blue screens of death, that they decided to make it up to me!

Finally a few images to share! Not so easy to show images on this website... am I missing something or is there no way to use an external direct link? I tried an <img src=""> tag...

Anyways... My very first breeding of mom (left) and dad (center) gave me the green Thyla on the right!

Different set of parents and I now have my second ever Thyla mutation:thyla_tealbelly_Ws.thumb.jpg.ab139a2c95b73f9a5ba8b9b0f4d16cd1.jpg

First Hyaenodon mutation:

Since that first light green one I've got a few random weirdos and recently I was able to combine one with a green chest to green body:

Took a few screenshots from the two bases on our center based "storage" server (we used to play on this one all the time but switched to Ragnarok as our main map of choice these days so this one is just used for storage mainly).

And a few from our Ragnarok breeding base.

Far too many to post on here with the tiny file size limits, so have dumped them on my Steam screenshots http://steamcommunity.com/id/ian_highlander/screenshots/

Not a fan of what they did to allo's in this game but those blue back and the yellow and blue allo's, I'd have to trade for if you were on PS4. Great job.

I'd happily give away eggs for nothing if there was a way of doing it, unfortunately this is PC and on my own private servers. I've toyed with the idea of starting another server on my cluster and opening it up to the outside world (the others aren't) just for the purposes of giving away mutations I have spare or eggs that I can reproduce over and over again as I have guaranteed pairings, but I don't even know if this would work at all and even if it would it would only work between unofficial dedicated servers I think. I do the breeding for fun and would not be interested in making anything out of it and would just give stuff away but I don't think this is even possible/feasible.
