Most Useless Dino?

TINYMAN

Recommended Posts

Without a doubt Pegos, on singleplayer they are just useless vermin they aren't even gard to kill.

Parasaurs have always been skipped over by me for actually useful tames.

Gallimimuses and Iguanodons because there are plenty of land dinos with good movement speed and Stam that can actually defend themselves.

Chalicos to me aren't worth the time to brew all that beer to tame one.

If Equus didn't kick things into a coma so well I would count them as over-rated.

Quetz and Brontos are a little worthless to me because I don't need dinos that big or slow.

Lio(Censored)-Only-Tamed-for-30-(Censored)-Minutes-ploridont wast your time and resources on this gimmicky meme-fish.

Last and least the Carno. The stubby armed, crap stated, overbite having, Corndog nomming Dorkasaurus.  You're the Parasaur of the Theropods Carno.

Chalicos are totally worth the time to brew the beer man, chalicos can really raptor poop up if you get a nice one, and they're easy as poop to breed and 100% imprint, needing berries or veggies as food, and as for the imprinting, on base breeding they take 3 days to breed while getting 9% imprint per imprint, while most 3 day breeds usually get 5-6% per imprint, Chalicos are usually 100% by the time they hit adol

As for carnos, yea they're kinda poop and sorely need a better bite hitbox, but they're the best mount for the Swamp Cave now that Arthroplueras are now a thing, a nice, mate boosted pair of good carnos in the swamp cave can be really good, though they'll usually need support with the meganeura swarms

I usually take a good frog or scorpion to caves. They haven't let me down yet, except for the first time when I just didn't know what to expect haha. Carnos just get on my nerves they have very shootable faces.

I do agree that chalicos are actually great tames in general but the few times I've actually bothered taming any I already had a bunch of solid dhoices anyhow. I'm the type of player that really only needs like 5 dios at a time anyways because anything more is just going to sit at my base doing nothing lol.

It's been a bit since I've taken a Scorp down that cave. I've been meaning to test it, but a few weeks back someone mentioned that you might be able to block the Arthro spit by turning your scorp's back to the Arthro. Do you notice any less spit hitting you than on the frog?

EDIT: Sorry for the off-topic. Anglers. They're cool, but useless. I feel like they should be another dino immune to electric stuff.

It might be true but I've never noticed being able to just tank hits from the spit on a scorpion to be honest. It seems to degrade about the same so I usually bring multiple armor sets plus as far as Arthros go once I learned what I was doing I started just waiting intil I could bring a healthy supply of bug repellents an 10 or 15 BoEs. Taming em helps me more with the rest of the cave and if they end up getting left behind so be it.

I think you should stress tameable as it's Jellyfish if it's all dino's.

However I think there is a lot of variables. Particularly game mode (PvE vs PvP) but let me see if I can look at this from a general basis.

Contenders:

Female Megaloceros: No attack, no harvest ability. They do have speed and don't require a saddle to ride so from a utility standpoint they are up there for uselessness but they can be early easy mounts to acquire so not most useless.

Electrophorus: I went back and forth between this and the winner and I am still conflicted. Before the nerf the Electrophorus had the capability to be a potent tame assisted dino. Now that the shock is essentially useless outside of slowing down a water dino it has hampered the use of these annoyances. It still does have speed and it's ability to render anything outside of a Basil or Tuso useless for 8 to 10 seconds means it has some value especially if used in a school of them.

Winner:

For me it has to be the Araneo. Not very fast. For a spider it's a terrible climber. Isn't a particularly strong mount nor does it harvest anything well. It's one ability that should make it useful is hampered because it does damage and that is the webbing. If the webbing did not do damage this mount might be seen as a viable option to help tame an animal by slowing it down making it easier to pelt it with darts. As it stands you may end up killing the tame before knocking it out. From a PvP specific aspect a shield easily deflects the webbing and there are much better mounts for surprise attacks and to slow down your enemies progression that are stronger.

I am 99% sure female megaloceres require a saddle.

Imo phio gets my vote if not for the poop no gather really wouldnt want to see how low damage an its pretty slow sprint thank goodness for the poop :)

No way dude! I love my little piggies. Just about every server I've ever been on I tame a pig and name it Winston, then see how long I can keep it alive. If it dies I won't tame a new one, but I kept Winston alive for 6 months on official once until a dilo got him.

Definitely Titans-- They are hard to kill unless you have a good giga or a flock of wyverns and they give no real reward for the kill besides Xp. I was really hyped for them. I wanted to tame and build a giant base on one, but alas, that was all smoke and mirrors. Now in pve they are only used for griefing.

Everyone is saying diplos are useless and yes for the most part they are, but I have used them to run across the island when I couldn't access a flyer. They are damn fast on land.

I think quetz are the most useless. Yeah they can carry things  and stand on when I can't reach something. Since the nerf they are painfully slow-- so slow I don't use them for anything but carrying big things from one spot to another or demolishing things I can't reach. The stam drains relatively fast and it takes about 20 minutes to get from east to west coast. You have to stop a million times. I hate them. I loved my quetz pre-nerf. It is absolutely ruined in PvE now.

>quest most useless

youre joking right?

Anything that lays eggs aren't useless in my eyes. Though spider eggs have no use whatsoever...

Mesopithecus, tho. Cute shoulder mount; that's about it. Throw it through a window and have it unlock a door? Unless it's a tribe that really appreciates aesthetics, there's often no window or port to throw them through. And even then!...Its fricka-fracken impossible to do it

Female Megaloceros have a valuable PVP aspect not many players know about. Basically their speed allows them to be viable base raiding machines.

That's all I am going to say ;)
