Anumis
We had someone try this on our server (Granted it was only unfertilized eggs at the time) But the player who's house it was, actually locked them inside their house. To prevent this from happening to you in the future again, what i would recommend is having a hatching room sectioned off in your house building. It may make a little more work, but compared with losing fert eggs?

We have a separate hatchery for large dinos.
