Griffin

Are griphons weak?  we have a 227 griffin and it can't kill nothing,  it can't even kill stuff to feed it self. I don't know if we're using it wrong, but the other day we got chased off by a lvl15 alpha raptor,  it's got like 12k health and 300 melee it just seems really disappointing. Are argys the only bird that can fight now?

no saddle = higher damage taken so alphas id be cautious around. we have a max level griff and use it for meat runs on smaller dinos up to stegos with no issues. maybe try pumping a few points in melee or initiate your attacks with the dive bomb attack to weaken and than proceed to bite.

Dive bomb attack only for max dmg.. 300 melle will wreck that raptor

You need to dive bomb attack as stated.  Once you get the hang of it the griff can kill quickly. 

I would say that argys are easier to kill other Dino's with. 

I use the griff as a scout or ride it if I want to tame something.

You get a crazy damage multiplier with the griffin based on momentum. If you dive, then level out flying over the top of your target with the speed boost. Attack when you fly over them. You can sometimes even get 2 hits in. I'm fairly certain this attack does more damage than the diving into the ground thing. It's really noticeable on servers where the damage is shown.  Also the chances of something hitting you when you fly over their head at the speed of sound is low

With a Griffin and a good crossbow/longneck you can tame/killl everything with minium risk. Maybe not with high attack itself but an OP dino.

All about the ground pound, the griffin can sprint backwards while looking at the ground and that makes repeated ground attacks easy and fast.  I can kill everything on the ground fast short of titans and gigas easily with my griffin.
