So my wife has become very established solo on a server. We have been hiding in the wood with small stone fort. We just hit level 32 or something like that and now have some guns available to make. Metal is a little scarce where we liv but we are managing to wrangle some up. Earlier we tried to trade 2k extra fiber we had with success.(didn't expect it to happen anyway.) So then we noticed we had been mass making narcotics without even noticing so thought maybe we could sell few hundred of those, just then someone in chat offered free narcotics to anyone who needed them. So we go back to the drawing board. Lets sell guns and ammo since we can make it now and are pretty good about grinding resources. But I have no idea what would be a fair amount of what resource to trade. Any ideas?

Trading is always a tribe by tribe basis. When we first started doing a lot of trading on our server, we struggled to get metal because we were pretty far from any metal spawns and didn't have a quetzal yet. At that time, we'd trade things for a few hundred metal, but now that we've got a quetzal, we won't trade for metal at all because we can get it so much easier than the stuff people want to trade it for.

Trading guns/ammo probably won't be very efficient. Probably not many people will be interested in the lower level guns, and those that are can probably pretty easily make them themselves. Things that are usually good to trade in are the raw materials themselves, metal ingots, cementing paste, pearls, gunpowder, polymer, crystal, ect. Lower level tribes may also be looking for stone, narcotics and other more basic things. Another good resource to trade with is eggs and kibble, especially to the mid-level tribes.

There isn't any set good/fair price for any resource, it all depends on how easily the tribe you're trading with is able to get those materials. One tribe may struggle to get pearls because they don't have any strong water dinos tamed, while another may have tons of pearls because they live in the north and can pick them up along the coast. Trade pearls to the tribe that can't get them, you'll get a better deal for them. Best way to do trades is put out on global what you looking for and what you have to trade for it and see who responds. Some days no one will trade, other times everyone will want to trade.

There's also the time factor, a tribe that just brought down a 120 rex and doesn't have the scorp kibble to perfect tame it will probably be willing to pay an arm and a leg for scorpion eggs or kibble. Likewise a tribe that's just been raided, or is under threat from another tribe will probably be willing to pay more for pearls, polymer, metal, crystal and gunpowder than they usually would, to fortify their defenses and make more weapons and ammo.
