Dino stat cap

They should have stat point caps, but they never will and here's why- for the same reason we can't level a dino over 450 because the heuristics cannot tell the difference between a player added level and a 'born' level added so the devs basically decided everything born over 400 was glitched somehow and leveled up mildly-450 (50ish levels) should be the max before the kill switch. The same type of check system for stat allocation would not be able to tell the difference between player added stats and point stats from birth. So if you have a Rex with 63 points into health and you added another 38 yourself puts you at 101 which, more than likely would be above the kill cutoff. They would have to base it on a number like this or else it would be worthless as someone could have a glitched Rex, born with 100 pts in health, and only increase melee. It would Miss the ones it was meant to kill, and kill the legit bred and leveled ones.

No, the dino stat cap is at 255, and the dino level cap is at 450. You can have 100+ points into HP on hatched Rexes.

@.@ whaaaaaa wish a dev would put a light on this matter to get the facts straight about dino stats sometime then

It's easy. Dino level cap = 450, if it is over 150, on the next time the server goes down, it will dissapear. The same happens if there is a dino with 255 points into 1 stat, but that won't happen unless the dino is really glitched or admin spawned, as normally rexes have 60-70 points into HP.

Wow,  didn't know that ty. 255 is a little high I would have liked to see it start Lower and adjusted over time to compensate for breeding but I guess it gets rid of the really bad mistakes.

Dinos can have all points in one stat. It is possible within the game. But the chance is extremely low.

Please don't dare them. They eventually will screw everyone over by capping (as example) Rexes HP and Rexes Melee and will then roll back all the rexes to a certain point. So a breeder who worked day and night to get to a certain level will get poop on instantly.

They did it for BP's that are RNG (Random number generator) made by the game. At some point their own formula raptored up and they capped it...at 250%. They did it with saddles BPs as well.

Honestly, you are expecting too much for a dev to hop in here and give you an answer.

I would imagine if they wanted it lower it would have been set to that initially.. so wouldn't worry about it. nothing we say is going to change that lol

I have a Gigga thats level 456?

you must be on a console and it hasn't gotten the update or something. The second you lvl a dino past 450 it'll go *poof* even if your riding it it'll just dissapear. I like cutting down on lvl cap by taming a lvl 5 of that species (1-2 wasted points) and stacking that.

No, not the second you lvl past 450, if you level past 450 on the next server restart it will dissapear. You can go raiding with 450+ dinos, but on the next restart they'll dissapear if they're not already dead.

Just like both you and me imagined they would have anticipated that eventually flyers were going to be faster than the sound barrier...yet we all know what happened.

It'll eventually be turned off or turned up anyways. Given the games been out for 2 years. It can be expected to run a long while before player base dies. Within that time frame their will be enough complaints about the cap and it will be slowly raised. The breeding mechanics if understood correctly has potential to raises monsters. Now there's rexes with 17.5 hp and like 525 melee.its just about mating those op rexes with wild tamed ones that put a stupid amount of stats into hp.
