Welcome to Unevolved Gaming, today we are going to take a closer look at the Arthropluera

The Arthropluera is a large invertebrate that somewhat looks like a modern day giant centipede.
It's body has a total length of roughly 3 foundations and is composed of 30 jointed segments that are heavily armored with chitin plates.
They are very aggressive hunters and are avoided by most creatures, even when outside a cave they are generally safe from all but the largest of predators.

The Arthropluera is fairly common in most cave systems on the Island. The Lower south cave can be considered the easiest location to find an Arthropluera due to its location, relative small size and accessibility with a mount.

Arthropluera's can be very tough opponents, their bite will inflict damage and torpor to both your survivor and mount. An Arthropluera can also spit its own blood towards a survivor even when mounted. This blood is highly-corrosive and acidic and reduces durability of any type of armor at 35x the normal rate.

Hitting the Arthropluera with melee weapons will make its blood splatter on to your weapons and armor causing it to break almost instantly. Blood that hits your armor will also cause damage to your survivor.

An Arthropluera's spit attack is very predictable and can be avoided when you are mobile enough, It is therefor recommended to use ranged weapons to kill the Arthropluera, shooting it in the head will give you a 2,5 x damage multiplier.

When killed the Arthropleura can be harvested for chitin and raw meat.

An Arthropleura can be picked up by an Argentavis, Quetzal, and Megalosaurus, however keep in mind that most servers don't allow fliers in caves, Luring The Arthropluera out of the cave is possible but will prove to be somewhat difficult due to the hostile environment inside a cave. Bear traps or bola's will not stop the Arthropluera in its tracks, they do however inflict some minor damage. Keep in mind that the Arthropluera can not gain torpor rendering the use of venomous creatures, tranquilizer weapons or traps useless

When trying to tame an Arthropluera it is best to kill all other creatures in the area or to lure it to a safer location inside the cave.

The Arthropleura can only be tamed passively, they are however aggressive creatures so survivors will have to apply Bug Repellent to keep them from attacking you on sight. Keep in mind that the Arthropluera will not be tameable if it is trying to attack another creature or is feeding on a corpse.

The Arthropluera can be tamed with spoiled meat, raw meat and raw fish meat however it prefers Broth of Enlightenment which will speed up the taming process significantly

Broth of Enlightenment is very expensive to make since it requires ingredients such as black pearls and death worm or woolly rhino horns. It can be consumed by players and provides a 150% experience boost for a duration of 20 minutes.

To feed the Arthropluera place it's food in the last slot of your hotbar and press the Y button on your controller to feed it. Be careful not to touch the Arthropluera when feeding it, since it will become aggressive and attack even when using bug repellent.

A saddle to ride the Arthropleura can be crafted in the smithy when a survivor reaches level 54.

When riding an Arthropluera you can press the left trigger on your controller to perform a spit attack. This attack will destroy enemy armor in a few hits and can also be used against bear traps.
Aiming this attack can be somewhat tricky and may require some practice

When pressing the right trigger on your controller the Arthropluera will bite your opponent delivering both damage and torpor. The torpor dealt is 3 x the value of the damage done over a period of 10 seconds.

A tamed Arthropluera can be turned into a turret in its behavior options, this will make the Arthropluera use it's spit attack to anything that comes into it's line of sight. Keep in mind that this will only work on wild dino's in pve.

In my opinion the Arthropluera can only be useful as a base defender in pvp servers, their movement speed and turning radius prevent them from being useful as a mount. Aiming with the spit attack can also be somewhat difficult. The Arthropluera can however be of great use when you're opponent has bear traps placed around their base.

That concludes our spotlight on the Arthropluera

Thanks for commenting it did take some time to make this spotlight indeed.

Yeah i know what you mean lol they do feel like aimbotters sometimes, moving around a lot does help with avoiding their spits.

flaming arrows might work however are not available in the base game on the island.
