LilNastyGurl
I'm not sure if its because Titanoboas, Kapros(?) and Sarcos go nuts on them or what, but I thought that the Diplocaulus would've been like the Lystro of the Swamp where they're not rare, and there's a healthy amount of them in the swamps to add life to it. However I see them only sometimes, most of them being mobbed by everything in the Swamp. What would you say their spawn rate would be?
St1ckyBandit
You can have them. The ones in the forest. All of them. I hate these damn things. Always knocking down my base covering trees which would be fine if refert actually worked reliably.
Graviphoton
Diplocaulus dies quickly so you must carefully fly over the swamp and don't hasitate to grab it immediatelly.

I read it that way too, lol
Dinopolis
Yea, they are are hard to find due to the number of predators in the area it almost always being either chased or eaten. Now if you do find one and its not the level you were looking for hold on to it and use it like a diplocaulus detector when the mate symbol appears. SuperGenki
I would not be surprised if they shared a spawn with Dimetrodon. You're right because when ever I do come across one it's being chased down by Kapro.
Dinopolis
Thanks, the diplocaulus is one of my favorites on here for chitin and black pearls. I would not recommend deep sea loot crate running with it unless you're very cautious of your surroundings because this dino usually only has a health pool of a few thousand. ilShadow
I didnt see a single Diplocaulus until i got to ragnarok, not s ingle one, i thought they were a myth to be honest, a dino that never got actually implemented or attached to a spawn point. HiImZech
yea they get eaten by everything in the swamp. my tribe even laid a few foundations here and there to help people see newt spawns but every time we find 1 it's being chased and eaten

Why would someone want one of them? They seem useless.

I've enjoyed them a lot for deep water exploration prior to getting scuba gear they're also a near unlimited source of chitin for how quickly they tear through trilobytes (assuming trilos are spawning decent again...) PuffyPony
I've noticed they seem significantly rarer on the Island than on the Center, but that may just be the result of larger spawn area on the Center and larger water ways to spot them. They do get eaten by everything, but usually if I grab an Argent or Ptera and fly just out of Kapro range, I can still find five to eight new spawns every day on the Center that haven't yet been chomped. Like PuffyPony said, it seems like they are easier to find on the center map than the island though. That's where I eventually got mine....I'm pretty sure that I had an easier time finding the freaking Ovis than these darn things though lol!
