Fatal Crash - Single Player PC - Ragnarok Map. Thought it was my mods until I got rid of latest ones. Still happened when I was building. Also it rolls back to about 15 minutes prior to the crash and comes up as a fatal crash (3 so far in the space of a day). Tried to get a screenshot of it but didn't work (in game or using paint to paste).

* I noticed that I cannot really build a dino kibble farm as the eggs fall through the foundation / ceiling making it impossible to see or even pick up. (Any type of ceiling / foundation)

* I have to do a dino wipe more often as the whole island just gets littered with raptors and no other spawns, even penguins are non-existent. 

* Massive lag spike when entering the fire cave

* Sorting option when in inventory is bugged as well. I found that I can only sort once, and everytime I try sorting using a different filter it just reverts back to the first option I chose. Unable to unsort as well.

 This is on PS4

I have been having a problem with entering text into the admin command box on Xbox One. Sometimes I can enter text into it and it works fine. Other times the entered text disappears, making entering a command impossible, despite pressing enter after the text is entered. The problem has also been showing up recently when trying to search my inventory too. It mostly occurs when entering commands with spaces in them. For example, if I type "GiveEngrams" or "Meat" it almost always stays in the command box; however, if I type something like "GiveItemNum 439 25 1 0", it might work the first 2 or 3 times I use a command like that, but then the text starts disappearing and I can no longer enter commands. Restarting the game and Xbox does not fix the problem. Typically, it repairs itself at random (tends to take a few days of play before it fixes itself) and then the text starts disappearing again after I use a few commands. This has only been occurring over the past couple weeks or so.


Also, this may not be relevant, but despite having this problem on three maps, it happens most frequently on the Center map. Most of the time when it happens on other maps, I have already experienced it on the Center map first.

Please look into this!

We play The Center now, but the issue occurred also on The Island. 

Console: PS4 
Non-dedicated server
A friend joins every day (Damn tether..)
Every time he rides and dismount he doesn't have a body. Only the head is visible. The issue is fixed when he remove and redo the armor. After 2 minutes he's riding a dino and he's see-though again! Extremely annoying.

On PC:

1. Shallow water has a multicoloured kaleidoscope effect on the surface.

2. I got stuck a few times in the knee deep shallow water in the Herbivore island bay after placing a stone foundation (Edit: Actually Stone Fence Foundation). Had to whistle my ptera to follow me so I could mount it and that got me unstuck.

3. Dinos still get stuck on many things; trees, rocks, etc.

4. Some weapons blueprints at lower tiers have better stats than the higher tier.

  • Could not stop my Stego to wander from the menu
  • Many resources does not grow back whaterver the game options radius (i'm at 0.3 instead of 1.0) or even far travel all arround the map
  • The neutral whisle does not work everytime, my pet still continue to get close and attack my previous target
  • Crash after 3h gaming straight big freeze of the game when entering/leaving a cave (snow one in ragnarok)
  • Wild Dino inside my base
  • Huge spawn of a type of dino all around the map after a while
  • Sometime my base miss some random parts (walls/greenhouse walls) when i start playing again SP, I have to reload a world backup to get back things.

The Island

Breeding yutyrannus. The male and female loose their connection to each other. The breeding bar remains but the texts saying "yutyrannus is mating with yutyrannus" disappears and and reappears a few times. Sometimes causing the bar to become stuck even after riding or disabling wandering. I've had to separate the pair in order for the mating bar to go away. Though it still takes about a minute to disappear. 

Also newly hatched unclaimed yuty babies are indestructible unless claimed. I tried to cull the ones i don't want with a tek rifle and it wouldn't loose health unless i claimed it first then shot it.

I'm not sure if this happens to other dinos since I've only been breeding yutys.

I wasn't going to mention this as I run mods which I felt might be a factor, but I am experiencing this as well.  It looks like an oil slick at the shoreline.  It affects the waterfalls in eco's Terrariums as well.

I verified files (caught and fixed a few errors) but it did not solve the issue.  This is on PC in single player, settings currently at Epic across the board, with all other settings active other than motion blur and film grain.  I do have light shafts turned off as well.

Biggest Issues encountered in Singleplayer, well in the whole game in fact, but then again it's a matter of perception:

1. Imprinting. The imprinting mechanic is completely messed up, for some creatures. 
Although i am not going to be specific due to the fact that the imprinting mechanic needs to be worked out, and be fairly balanced.
I am going ahead and tell this the imprinting - cuddle timer - (that is based of the maturation speed) should be removed. Otherwise you have high chances of missing the final imprint.
It happened to me, multiple times, whenever i reach the final imprint the cuddle timer finishes literally at the same time has the maturation of the creature ends, it doesn't render the imprint useless. however it makes the imprinting completely "not-achievable".

- Response to this:
I would have prefer if the imprinting mechanic should be revised and changed, the cuddle-timer should be removed completely.
Instead the -cuddle- should have happen strategically at some % of the creatures maturation, giving a fixed amount of imprinting quality. 
For example, at 20%, 30%, 40%, 50% maturation, However it shouldn't go above 90% of the maturation of the creature. This way anyone could achieve a perfect imprint, and would not be subjected to "Luck based mechanics". This way the cuddle timer could be removed, from the options and the maturation would have had a much bigger impact.

I seriously don't know why this wasn't implemented like this. If you don't want the imprinting to go above 100%, there are better ways to do so. This is may main complain.

2. Creatures AI. Surely everyone is distasteful of the AI of the creatures. Carnivores attack and destroy non-stop anything in their path, herbivores roam randomly like targets waiting to be killed of eventually. The game literally lacks dynamism, and livelihood in it, is to bland. I wish i could see the carnivores eat a corpse and remain calm for a few minutes, before hunting down something else, as well as i could see herbivores to have personality, like eating a few bushes then moving on to the next bush. Whenever the area was depleted they would migrate. But then again, I know this isn't going to be implemented, so i won't make a big deal out of it.

3. Creatures not spawning/falling of the map
So, creatures not spawning has been an issue for how long exactly? I don't know. 
It has always been happening for me at least, I start the game the game has live in it and feels cool to be around and see a few creatures everywhere i look. After a few days in game, due to the "exaggerated" hunting of the carnivores, or simply by the despawning mechanism. Some spaces where once had creatures in it, stop having anything at all in it. 
I posted on Steam this problem the response was "kill the creatures", what there is to kill, if there isn't anything at all?
Worse part is if the creature falls through the map, (heavily common on caves) the creature takes "memory space" and doesn't allow anything to spawn back. You can kill it if you [Ghost] out - cheat - I hate the fact that i need to cheat to clear things out. This problem is a heavy burden on singleplayer.

 

4.Difficulty settings.
So difficulty has changed from 120, to 150 max. I wish i could see this implemented on the Island map. Where I can indeed allow the max level to be 150. although it completes messes up the levels of the creatures overhaul. you will some at 4, 8 then those at 5, 15. So if anyone knows the island map, the map favors the lower level creatures, which is insane if you want to get a better creature to tame, or have some sort of challenge out of the map. But the main problem is this:
You can indeed have a change in the max level. My question is: how does that change anything if the map will be completely overtaking by the vanilla difficulty?
I have found to many levels 4-8 on a max level map (both in difficulty setting, and overriden to be 150). I couldn't even find creatures above level 20 in this map.
Honestly, and with due respect. Please set the difficulty to be equal to all of the maps. If 150 it is, then it should be. Besides that that difficulty is indeed the best for the game, it balances out things to give a proper challenge.

5.Overhaul Loot System
It needs a change, it seriously needs. By now we have lots of creatures, and with it lots of saddles that are considered "useless". The veteran players will not tame a Carbonemys, even if the saddle is the first to unlock, for a "berry harvester creature". When we have access to a better creature a few levels ahead (triceratops). To counter this properly, The drops should have all of the dino saddles (in primitive quality, or above). For a better usage of creatures.
Besides that, proper loot, for proper drops. The drop system is the worse that the game offers. I can clean out a cave and then whenever i claim the loot i have to much high possibility to get "cloth armor" from any "chest" that the cave has.
I would like this to change, and to be balanced out for the better. Cave loot and drops should have their range in quality, blueprints and frequency in getting "things"

The major problem in singleplayer, is how unbalanced it is. that doesn't render the game unplayable, just adds in problems to a game that shouldn't have had any by now.
I do hope that whenever it gets released, everything is properly "made" and balanced. I gave feedback, and whenever i'll find a problem, i'll give again feedback. 
However if someone asks for it, and doesn't listens, nor cares. then I shall remain silent. I will be a witness to what's to come. 
Good or bad.

Not that i don't care, I do care. I'm just not going to be bothered by this anymore, I'm not in a development team, nor do i know anything about development.
I'm just a  consumer, with my own opinions. and i add that everything could have been and gotten better with time, and with feedback, which was neglected. The game could be one of the best. But I see it slowly being wasted.

I am running vanilla, so no mods or settings changes.

High preset for the graphic settings, no custom settings.

Gameplay issues

  • Collision with dino heads and tails
  • Players take fall damage when dismounting large dinos (giga, bronto etc.)
  • Collecting eggs adjacent to creatures results in unintentional mounting (due to creature movement)
  • Radial menu options appear/disappear when the menu is open making selection hard (often due to creature movement). Options should never disappear from an open menu but rather become disabled
  • Beavers consume no oxygen underwater but float to surface when dismounted
  • Items (spyglass, GPS, map etc.) not usable when mounted on aquatic creature
  • Dismounting creatures after moving around triggers a location update which is awkward when attempting to position said creatures
  • Creature follow command does not consider overshoot/collision and commonly gets you stuck in collision with other actors
  • Flyers (wyvern being the exception) follow at ground level and get stuck on ground level obstacles
  • Creature heads attempt to look at you even when you are located behind them, unnecessarily blocking your view forward
  • Encumbrance is not indicated in inventory UI
  • There is no way for players to get unstuck from terrain
  • Player corpse loot bags sometimes spawn inside terrain/under ground geometry

Ps4 Single player, my biggest issue currently is resources not respawning unless I afk close by, even with the resource respawn invterval tweaked it takes a good bit of time. Stone, Trees, Bushes come back no problem, nice and fast. But the important mid to late game resources just dont respawn unless I actively sit just outside of render range for a fair bit of time. IE: Metal, Crystal, Obby.

Another issue I've noted is, a lot of the bug creatures will just vanish upon hitting them. The floating damage will register but the bug itself will just vanish no killing exp, no resources from said bug. Seen this happen with a few other creatures as well, but mainly bugs like scorpions, meganura.

Cannot change the imprint interval no matter the setting it always 3-4 hours per imprint. And finally, babies starving to death with a full inventory of food and multiple troughs near by. Very disheartening to have a mutated dino die with so much food available. Taming has a very similar issue where the knocked out dino just won't eat for long periods of time. I have seen quite a few dinos drop 500-1000 food before taking a bite.

Dragon boss is bugged as well, when it teleports you in, you enter under the map or in it. Your character will be teleported to the proper place after a few seconds but any dinos taken in are lost. Either fall under the map or just vanish all together. Lost 15 good rexes this way. Wasn't an issue until the last patch or two. Worked perfectly fine before then.

First item in the player inventory still unsorts itself into multiple stacks of items instead of a singular stack.

When using any chatbox it will lock the screen up for a few minutes, the only current work around is opening the PS dashboard then closing it.

Part of the UI is cut off on the sides and bottom of the screen, no matter the settings on tv, console and game. Food effects, explorer note exp timer just can't be seen now.

Sometimes you can get an explorer note, it will show you the note but you'll receive no exp buff on your character or dino.

Female sheep revert to white after every logout.

Achievements Maximum Dinosaur & Perfect Explorer are broke on PC. Several people as well as myself have tried everything to get Maximum Dinosaur even with cheats, the achievement will not unlock. The Perfect Explorer Achievement and skins will not unlock as  Helena note 30 and Rockford note 29 are missing. Tried every GPS and Teleport location available. The notes are just not there on The Island. I found them on Scorched. Several other are reporting this as well. Please fix. Even cheating this takes hours.

Gameplay issues

  • Collision with dino heads and tails
  • Players take fall damage when dismounting large dinos (giga, bronto etc.)
  • Collecting eggs adjacent to creatures results in unintentional mounting (due to creature movement)
  • Radial menu options appear/disappear when the menu is open making selection hard (often due to creature movement). Options should never disappear from an open menu but rather become disabled
  • Beavers consume no oxygen underwater but float to surface when dismounted
  • Items (spyglass, GPS, map etc.) not usable when mounted on aquatic creature
  • Dismounting creatures after moving around triggers a location update which is awkward when attempting to position said creatures
  • Creature follow command does not consider overshoot/collision and commonly gets you stuck in collision with other actors
  • Flyers (wyvern being the exception) follow at ground level and get stuck on ground level obstacles
  • Creature heads attempt to look at you even when you are located behind them, unnecessarily blocking your view forward
  • Encumbrance is not indicated in inventory UI
  • There is no way for players to get unstuck from terrain
  • Player corpse loot bags sometimes spawn inside terrain/under ground geometry

this! even though rexs are dumb as hell and get stuck on everything  i refuse to ride them and command my argie to follow because of this. i prize my argie over any animal and will not risk it to die cuz it cant fly more than 2 inches off the ground following .

Xbox One

  1. It doesn't seem to be possible to change the interval of imprinting on dinos while raising them. The timer stays at 3ish hrs no matter what you set it to in the settings.
  2. Everytime I dismount a flying mount, the game lags a lot.
  3. I would be an awesome feature, if it was possible to change the speed of which Dung Beetles produce fert, snails produce paste etc. :)

When repairing some items(fur armor in this case) in the smithy  the game makes a repeating craft sound and it appears as though I am crafting more than one item, nothing too serious but still rather annoying. 

This happens to me as well. It actually uses materials each time it repairs for me, so I end up spending far more materials than I should have.

I played few hours straight and got the game frozen (black screen, sound playing but no UI working nor CTRL+ALT+SUPP or any system shorcut). I had to shutdown my PC. Then every time i run the game it crashes so i guess my saved files have been corrupted. This is 100% reproductible so if any dev is interested to look at my saved files, send me a private message and i'll upload them somewhere...

Since patch 260 my game is still crashing in 3rd person view. Especially when I try to drive a raft or when I mount a dino in 3rd person. This is a real big problem because I can't play it anymore on MP and SP.

I already deleted and re-intalled ARK from 0 and deleted all local files.

Any help would be appreciate. Thanks.
