TweakARK
Hello, some days ago i got a "new" VPS with more diskspace and memory etc. So i decided to setup a ARK server on it, i followed the default setup on: http://ark.gamepedia.com/Dedicated_Server_Setup i added some mods: ActiveMods=600705968,895711211,627340159,764792033,656133973,731604991 and we started playing, after some time the kernel killed the server because of memory usage. So i installed arkmanager for auto restart and updates etc. I think it was possible to keep the server running for like 1 hour... So i found out the OS did not have a swap file, i created like 5GB swap and changed something so the kernel wont kill the process but wont allow to allocate more memory. Now the server is running for like 03:06:07 but look at the memory usage: 6815 steam 20 0 5878568 4.441g 13464 S 12.5 76.2 25:57.65 ShooterGameServ 76.2% memory usage! and keeps growing and there not even players online.. i hope someone can tell me what to do.. specs of the VPS: 2 cores CPU 6GB ram and 500GB disk space. I tried to start the server without mods, but still the memory keeps growing.. i think if i set up another one (new) without modifications it will do the same. It can use much more...even if you have freshly started it. My RAM usages: The island - no player connected - 6.8 GB The center - no player connected - 4.4 GB Scorched earth - no players connected - 3.1 GB The only thing you can do is remove all your mods. No mods = less RAM usage. But anyway... for the island, your server is to low... once you have some peoples on or many buildings on the map, your 6GB won't be enough memory. TweakARK
Thnx for the info, i upgraded the VPS to 12GB ram.. now lets see what happends.. Kinda sad the developers dont put the correct info online.. And i tried without mods on a fresh install, memory was going to same usage.. so its just ARK using so much.. even with no mods..
