Last of the Brohicans is a fresh new PvPvE server hosted by Ark Enthusiasts who got fed up with abusive admins and the noncompetitive nature of a single alpha tribe wiping newer tribes at a whim.

How we are Different

 

TL;DR: Zero Admin Abuse, Removal of the Giganotosaurus, No Base Wiping, and no blocking of major resources or Caves, Fresh Server Plenty of new opportunities await!

 

Its become common practice and the common experience of the game to play for a few weeks, build a small base, tame a few dinosaurs and log in one morning to find everything gone, destroyed by another tribe. We all know this sunk feeling in the stomach. The rock that drops when you hear a crashing noise and look to see a player tamed Giga smashing into your base and then proceeding to kill everything without breaking a sweat. The frustration of suspicion that an admin is cheating and spawning in for himself op gear and taming dinos using commands.

 

On Last of the Brohicans all these problems and frustrations are sought to be minimized/removed completely. The first step we have taken to address Admin Abuse is the removal of the Admin from the players completely. The one admin (Pudding) is a separate entity from all tribes and is barred from pvp with the exception of being allowed to defend himself in game if another player attacks. To further ensure that the Admin isn't choosing favorites or spawning in gear for his friends all Admin commands are displayed in chat for all to see.

The next major point is the removal of the Giganotosaurus from the game until it has been properly balanced. The Giga is extremely overpowered. Its fun to use. But its only fun for those using it. So we disabled it pending proper balance from the developers.

The last bit is how we wish to ensure a competitive chance for all players: new, experienced, fresh spawns, and established tribes. So naturally the first bit is that we disallow the killing of fresh spawns. Don't kill that naked guy punching a dodo. The next bit is that base wiping or excessive tamed dino killing is disallowed. This is a zero tolerance policy. One Strike and you are done. It doesn't matter if you have been on the server for a month or three days wiping a base will result in a permanent ban. That being said raiding is very much allowed (it is a pvp server after all). See the server rules for guidelines to have yourself a fun raid without forcing another to start over completely. If a base is wiped or dinos excessively killed that results in a ban all destroyed dinos and materials will be spawned in by the admins and he will do his best to set you back to how you were prior the actions that resulted in a ban (note the importance of occasional screenshots to prove what you had should it not appear in server logs). To further allow for competition between players all major resource spots are open for all players and the blocking of major resources will result in admin action.
