Spino Overrated?

So I've heard some people say they are water specialist but I'm not too sure, literally you take them into the sea and good luck keeping it alive, if you come across anything, and i mean anything other than a little coel or a penguin which are passive you will die from it. I have a 160 spino and level 10 eel came swimming at me. I tried to run away but it outran me so i had to turn and fight it, surprise surprise it stunned me off my spino kept it constantly stunned so i couldn't fight back, and while trying to escape myself other eels joined in and i was taken out by a pack of 6 eels. Is anyone in agreement or am i missing something about the spino? :|:/

Thanks, Wodlez

Spinos have a very big attack aoe in front of them, so if you see cnidaria / eels coming towards you. You can swim away, turn around and stop. The spam the attack and they will be dead before they reach you.

A good imprinted spino is amazing at underwater as long as you avoid squids and high level alpha mosas.

Thanks for this, i guess i didn't try to attack quick enough, it's hard to judge distances of where to attack on the bigger dinos

I don't like them. They can do more things than a Rex, but nothing really good.

"They have a better stamina management" - Instead of going full damage, give your Rex some Stamina. It'll still do more damage than a Spino.

"They are good underwater" - If you can tame a max-level Spino, you can tame a max-level Plesio or Mosa. They're better water predators.

"They have good AoE range" - Get a Giga with better AoE range and damage.

I agree in part, but taming and leveling 1 high level Spino is way easier than taming and leveling 1 each of the dinos you mentioned. It's more of a 1 stop shop for tranitioning between land and water, possibly in a place where you don't have access or keep a rex on the shore / mosa in the water.

Spinos are your atv, they are quite good in the water AND you can run ashore and keep doing your thing.  I love them for meat runs and beaver dam looting. They really aren't pvp viable due to rex and giga having better damage and tankiness imo.. But I have killed a rubber toothed giga tame (low level) with a bred spino. Pump your stats into melee and speed/stam and enjoy :)

Dont know tbh, ive never really gotten into the whole spino thing, atm if ur after a water hunter/land hunter baryonyx is 10x better imo.. faster/more dmg + aoe stun underwater

Well. Sadly the Baryonyx does not have more damage. Nor does it swim faster than a Spino. It has a slightly faster sprint speed.
