So what did you do in ARK today?

Today was a good day. I FINALLY killed that Tusoteuthis (which I way over prepared for btw) and got eight Tusoteuthis tentacles. Now I just need the Artifact of the Brute from the bottom of the Southeastern Trench. Here’s my current problem, though. I looked up some videos of people attempting the Center Gamma Arena and all of their dinos were in the mid 200’s in terms of level. Most of my dinos are in the low 200’s and there are some that are in the mid-high 100’s. Am I that underprepared for the boss fight? I’m thinking of doing some grinding...

Its done. The dock is finally done. Took me 3 or 4 nights of constant farming and building but got there in the end. So much longer than I thought it would take. Wasnt helped by the awful building mechanics... I surrounded the cove with an outer wall of pillars and ceilings with a behomoth gate at the entrance. Added a lighthouse type building at one of the corners in what is my first build using an octagon base rather than the standard square build. Think it came out great considering. Just need to add the final details such as lights but thats for later. Sick of the sight of stone structures now ?rps20180707_224254.thumb.jpg.1c9c71da8da127df67c33b958398bf76.jpgrps20180707_224330.thumb.jpg.80d26783ff1fe8bf6e89d420fdbf82d9.jpg

Also while farming resourses came across a 150 wild bronto  so rushed back to base and grabbed the griffin to tame it up. Downed it without too much of a problem although I thought I botched it when the xbox dashboarded (for once i dont think it was an ark issues but the xbox overheating due to the warm weather over here...). Tamed it up and slapped the brachiosaur skin on it :)rps20180707_224358.thumb.jpg.74246ddda9f56adfcea79a28f6637077.jpg

Today in Ark start out just like any other day. Imprinting on Baby dinos and Reapers XD, also filling up trough. Next me and my fellow tribemate filled up 4 forges of Metal on our aberration server :).

ALAS then the fun struck! We went diving to get pearls on our Island server so we could make our ascendant spino saddle of awesomeness. The saddle ended up at 133 armor ? and i put it on Lyro(my spino) and he is a beastly beast now, sporting a massive 10k hp and over 800 melee damage(and growing).

Then me and my tribemate tweaked and messed around with a forcefield generator in the Redzone on Aberration, to test and see if it indeed stopped radiation. (it did)

Finally me and my Tribemate took our reapers down to find queens of high levels, for the never ending hunt to find a White Reaper before the event ends ?

Alright. My boss squad is full. I have all the tribute items that I need. All that’s left is to transport my army to the green obelisk.

This has gone almost too well so far. Every other time that I’ve tried to transport a large group of dinos across the map like this somebody has gotten lost. So far I’m only a few steps from the Savannah biome and once I’m there my chances of losing somebody fall drastically.

Sadly I’m only able to really travel by night because there are three Megalosaurs in my army. They tend to slow things down if they don’t get their beauty rest. Right now I’m camping out on a small island in the middle of the swamp while daytim passes. This will be a boring wait but hopefully we’ll worth it in the end...

MyArsenal for the Center Gamma Arena fight:

Full riot gear w/backup flak gear

A longneck rifle w/ 100 rounds

 A shotgun w/ 100 shells

50 stimulant

food and water

5 Rexes

4 Allosaurs

 3 Spinosaurs

 3 Megalosaurs

2 Therizinosaurs

2 Yutyrannus

1 Daeodon

Im only able to play Ark about 5 hours a week maximum, so this is about a real-time year and a half of work that it took to get me to this point. If I lose this fight I lose all that time as well. I’m nervous, but I feel ready...

I’ll be streaming this either tomorrow or Monday. I’ll try to let y’all know at least an hour ahead of time if anybody’s Interested.

Moved my dinos to a new base location, and realized ARK lore is inconsistent

(Context: Helena makes the scientific names for the dinos right? E.X. Dislikes seekers, scientific name means ”chimarea are annoying”. So she named the raptor Utahraptor prime while on the island, and on Diana log #2, on aberration while Helena is still on the island, she somehow knows that Helena has named it ”Utahraptor prime” and labels the raptor picture ”Utahraptor prime”)

Honestly I don’t think they had a story in mind when they were making this game...at least not a complete one. I doubt many people play ark for its story anyway.

Today i tamed my first Therizinosaurus, he is lvl 105 now and his name is Ernie :D

I need one more lvl up and i can make a saddle for him.

After that i went on a killing run with my two raptors, got into a fight with a trike and suddenly a... therizino comes in.

Didnt know the whistle button for passive, so i tried to save the raptor i wasn't riding.

I died, they died... shouldnt have tried to save the 2nd raptor.

Well, atleast i have a Therizino now.

Just returned home from a week long vacation in Southeast Florida. T and I were able to hangout with B for a few days of the trip, and even managed a few deep sea fishing excursions while our wives went shopping.

Good to see B again, he took care of both servers pretty well. Logged in this morning, grinded some more materials for our base on the island server, fed everyone and logged.

Had a very productful evening. Finally decided on the location for the breeding barn. Thought about converting the current stables into one but decided to build one to a design I came up with on single player and another server. The location isnt quiet where I had hoped but I was limited by space. Slogged at resource harvesting and construction all evening, and the building is now structually complete. All I need to do now is outfit all the electrical equipment like generators and fridges, as well as install the AC units into the incubator. Maybe some finer details here and there. Love having artifacts lighting up the barn on the loft area but I have yet to get any on the server so that part will have to wait. Hate the behomoth gate though, but its needed for practical reasons, such as if I wanted to leave wyverns or rexes in there to fully grow.rps20180708_230401.thumb.jpg.76cd18f66e3a3d6ab96e6021348be685.jpgrps20180708_230434.thumb.jpg.887f96768d9bc3a14a4456ee7060849b.jpg

We were out of town for the weekend so we didnt do anything Saturday and Sunday. We did get to play a little Friday before we left and this morning before work and managed to get running water to the base, get a few crops going, and build the pyramid.

y4m6_sHVlRZMRIcXSwmL7pRkekK83zMUSuvZ0CjR

Snap points were not playing nice at all and the only way I could get the top 3 floors to not have gaps in the corners was to flip the walls around. I must have rebuilt it 3 or 4 times before giving up. So my next project is to flip the bottom 2 floor's walls around, not a huge deal with s+ atleast. The "steps" are going to be lined with crops and plant x/turrets to protect agains wild wyvrens and argents

Next we are going to finish the interior. I played around on single player and theres plenty of room inside for an indy forge, storage and a bed room. After we finish the inside I think we may hop over to the island for a bit and do some taming and finish our wall around the base. I'd love to tame some event dinos as well as allos, a few good pairs of thezios for breeding and a good pair of tek rex

PS4 - Private Server - Ragnarok

I played an unhealthy amount of ARK this weekend, and am paying for it today!

So I have been racing around a lot lately, trying to tame up any worthy color event dino still on the server. I was lucky enough to find a 150 Yellow and Orange female Rex. After a very long taming session, which included the sun going down, and me falling off the cliff I was on, and somehow avoiding the the Meglasaurus that had glowing eyes for me, I tamed her up as a 224!. I started walking her back towards my main base, but felt the easier though longer route would be to walk her along the shore. Well I got to Viking Bay, and I was tired of walking the new dino, so I parked her near the water's edge, where I already had a tamed turtle, shark and Carno.

I then went back on my Wyvern and tried to find the Meglasaurus from the night before, as I thought in my torchlight I saw some hot pink. Sure enough, I found it, and it is 75% Hot pink, so I tamed it up (even though only level 90) and at least I could use her eggs. Of course as I was starving her, I got noticed by some dilos. Luckily  Iwas able to kill one, and KO the other, before they could do much damage to "Pinky Tuscadero". The dilo I KO'd turned out to be a level 145, so he got assigned guard duty to Pinky, and I slowly walked them back to the base. (The one time I am not happy about my long day, short night setting.)

Well I am almost back to where I parked the yellow Rex "Sunshine", when I notice another Rex on the cliff above me.... and this Rex seems to be stuck. She is a Pink and yellow level 100+ so I figure why not, and because she is stuck, was a very easy tame.

Now I suddenly realize that I have a whole bunch of dinos, that I need to walk back to my Base near the canyon bridge near the center of the map.

Well, I decide I'll do that later, but now I want to grab some event colored water dinos.  So I fly back to the main base, craft up a bunch of scuba gear, and take my level 145 pre-tame Green body, with Red belly Shark "Watermelon" out into the sea. not too long into my voyage, and I see a level 145 Blue and Pink shark, so I kite it to a small cove, and tame it.  While taming that one, I also tamed a low level Pink one that happened to show up to the party. (I just realized I have a lot of Pink dinos on my server)

My shark trio and I continue on our way and then we turn a corner only to see a 140 Squid hanging out .... so we scoot past it, only to come way to close to a level 90 Mosa..... we are swimming our butts off like Dora, and as we find an underwater land bridge near a cave entrance in the NW corner of the map. I use this time to rest and heal up the sharks as I had been adding levels into HP mostly.

Finally we take off again, and within seconds I see a Mosa, thinking the level 90 had followed us, I spyglass it out of habit, and see it is a level 150.  Well it is just a vanilla color, but still, it is a level 150, and I have a MC saddle sitting in my base unused. So I decide a taming pen is necessary. So I carefully take the trio back to my Viking Bay location.

I then spent an enormous amount of time grinding and crafting up behemoth gate, pillars and the other things needed for a water taming pen. (While gathering resources, I came across a level 130 Meglasaurus (vanilla colors) and decided to tame it also, plus a neon green vulture, and a multi colored event level 135 dilo. So now I have like a dozen dinos standing around the water's edge awaiting transport back to base at the center of the map. And I figure I should have a healing pig too, so I tame up a level 140 that I found in the nearby snowy mountains.

Loading my trio of sharks up with the taming pen components, we carefully make our way back to the underwater land bridge location.  This time the Squid was no where to be seen.  After going thru a couple of air tanks, I finally get the pen built. I then park two of the sharks in the nearby cave (I had explored part of it, and saw zero dinos in it, so figured it was safe.)

I then took watermelon (and her JM level saddle) and we go looking for the 150 mosa.  Luckily we find her quickly, and after a few tries finally get her into the pen. A bazillion tranq arrows later, and she collapses.  I stuff her full of Quetz kibble and narcotics, and begin taming her. She finally wakes up at a perfect 224! I throw the MC saddle onto "Quintessa" and the 4 dinos and I begin our way back to Viking bay.

Well almost immediately, the level 90 Mosa from before sneak attacks us, then is joined by a level 40 mosa and 1/2 dozen sharks..... we are fighting our butts off, but we finally manage to clear out the attackers, with Quintessa kicking some major butt.  I bump up levels in everyone in Melee and HP, and we continue toward the bay. Then I notice a mate- pair of event colored sharks, and BOTH are level 150. A Neon Blue and purple female, and a Neon Green and Pink male. So I swim my dino way up towards the shoreline, and put them on passive, while I swim done with just Watermelon as my transport. I start tranqing both sharks, while Watermelon tanks, but soon I am aware that another mosa and more sharks are creeping closer.

Then I notice that Watermelon is getting bloody, and I decide not to risk her, so I jump on, ad we race towards the shore where the other water dinos are. We manage to avoid all of those baddies, and I feel like we are getting closer to the Bay, when I look back and notice that my other dinos are not with us!  We circle back around the corner, and I see that eels, cnardia and sharks are gang-banging Quintessa and the two other sharks. We dive in the fight, and try to help get everyone out of there. But I am soon knocked off my shark, and within seconds my scuba gear is destroyed. I swim for the surface while whistling for my dinos to follow me, but they are too engaged in battle to release and follow.  Then I see it ...death message for the low level Pink shark .... that sucks, but she was low level, with only a Prim saddle. My screen is filling up with yellow kill notices, with Quintessa kicking butt again, but then I see that my level 145 Shark with a JM saddle has been killed.... Well crap!  I swim back down, and whistle again for my dinos, just in time to see Quintessa kill off the last of the shockers.  She is bloody, and Watermelon is just hanging on by a thread. I get them to the surface, and force feed them all of the food in their inventories.

Then we race back to the bay, staying to the surface, and avoiding everything. I get them as close to shore as possible and bring over the healing pig. While they are healing, I hear the attack music, and I notice that a couple of Mantas are taking their shots at my dinos. Then a few lobsters join in. I jump on Sunshine the Rex, and she stands in the water, and chomps away. Finally calm is restored. But I realize that my water dinos need a water pen to be safe. So I fly my Wyvern back to my main base, and once again begin grinding out resources.

I return back to the bay, and make a Behemoth and dino gate water pen, plus take advantage of the land formations to reduce the amount of gates needed. It is not too big, but the Mosa fits in with room in the shallower water for sharks and future tames.

*** Holy crap, I wrote another novel here... sorry about that..... so here are the cliff notes for the rest of my weekend. ***

Tamed level 100 Yellow shark, then took it to find and tame mantas in the cove, since I had some angler Jel. tamed up two Mantas (both level 100+) and while having them follow me back to the pen, they both ran aground and instantly died!

So I looked for more ... found a Level 90 Basil, tried to fight off mantas ... they killed my new yellow shark, killed me.  But finally got the Basil tamed on regular fish meat, because I had a brain fart, and thought they needed fish only to tame. STUPID!!!

Decided I needed a base next to the water pen, so spent the rest of weekend building a smaller base, and an adjoining pen for the land dinos.

.... okay, nap time for me!

Another productful day. Started of by installing all the electricals into the breeding barn. Got the AC units and fridges in now so ready to roll with any breeding.

Went across to the wyvern trench for my first wyvern egg run with my griffin. As I feared all the eggs had not been cleared out enough recently so most had spoiled so I had to clear out the trench before getting any luck. Even found a nest which had two eggs in it which shows it hadnt been cleared out since the nest fix. Obviously no one knew about that nest lol. A command which clears out the nest is certainly needed or at least include wild wyvern eggs in dino wipes. Eventually started to get a few eggs. Wasnt too much of a hassle, I remeber stealing eggs on a griffin being so much more stressful. Dont think one wyvern got me at all. Got a fire lvl 20, lvl 40 poison, lvl 65 fire and eventually lucked out for a lvl 165 fire so called it quits at that.

Incubated the 65 and 165 eggs. Both came out singles, the 65 being an ok colour while the 165 came out in a rather sickly yellow colour, not a big fan of it. Plan was for the 65 wyvern to be a weight hauler but I dont think the stats will allow it like I hoped so it might be a dud. The 165 will be my main wyvern untill I get to the point of imprinting wyverns. Currently in the process of crafting up metal structures for a wyvern trap so itll eventually happen.rps20180709_203047.thumb.jpg.a81779622db8a2342d856e4566929190.jpgrps20180709_203115.thumb.jpg.63c9d25b344f568e56e0ddb333b48943.jpg

Once they grew up I took them out for a spin. Nearly got the 65 killed when attacking a pack of allos. Took the other out and raided a few beaver dams for cementing paste. Went on a quick exploration south to install an oil pump in the desert to sort out my oil problems. Found a 145 thylocoleo so nabbed it and took it back to base to tame up. Think its an event coloured dino and not a big fan of it but wasnt passing up the level. Nah what am I saying I like the white, just would prefer a nice golden colour or might I say cyan...

rps20180709_203144.thumb.jpg.c2b5256eebabc622b2d40cb1248ec80c.jpg

Went back south to do a bit of drop hunting. Just the usual junk but lucked out on some ascendant fur gauntlets and to my joy an ascendant pump shotgun. On the way back to base I swung back round by green ob to pick up a 145 white event coloured pachy I spotted earlier. Took it back to base and tamed it up. Dyed one of the stgyi skins I had to match it and the stygi is now keeping the other one company next to the fire place.rps20180709_203211.thumb.jpg.7ff3a3ffa47cb555b379d431835329e1.jpg

Finally, finished putting together all the resources needed to craft up an industrial forge and installed the thing. Crafted a wee bunker for it just to make it look more at home and more aesthetically pleasing rather than just left dumped on some foundations.

Gave up on PvP servers [emoji852]️

We're only two tribe members so we are limited, but we're now just sick to death of being wiped the day after we join a server before getting out of 'stone age'.

We even tried the small tribe servers but my god are they toxic [emoji23]

So now we're off to PvE, we can't raid, we can't grief, but hell, nor can they...

Okay, so I completed the Center Gamma Arena without losing a single Dino!...but there’s a problem...y’see I only actually got 16 element out of it. Is that normal???

Yeah it seems like it is normal unfortunately. 16 for gamma, 45 for beta and 95 for alpha according to the wiki page. Could be wrong here but I beleive I saw a tweet saying its being looked into to change it.

Had a fairly productive day today. My wife gathered wood while I went back to the old base to pick up our taming pens, then I set one up near our new base. No sooner did I get that set up and we spot a 210 female sabre. So we get her in the pen and tranqed. While she starved we get 4 s+ plant x planted on the roof of the pyramid as well as running water to them.

Next we relocate the generator from the center of the room to the very top floor of the pyramid and get the place wired up.

About the time we finished that it was time to get some prime for the sabre, which was pretty easy with the several parcers and carnos around. After taming her we did a little exploring and found the crystal/obsidian/sulfer cave and tamed an albino moshops along the way. We then started searching for any decent metal nodes but got cut short due to a superheat (temps sored to almost 200 degrees F) and decided to quit for the day.

Now that we have a pair of sabres we will probably breed them this week. We are getting low on fuel too so we need to get an oil pump setup in the next few days. The rest of this week we will continue work on the base and get a wind generator going to save on fuel
