xrayboom
I heard, that will be able to paint the dinosaurs soon. I hope its not going to be on Xbox One, that means, we have made hundreds of mutant dino, different colors for nothing. What do you think of this Ark Survivors ? tadragrac
I was also wondering about the affect of painting vs. mutations. People are really proud of the color mutations; it seems that will be gone.

Harrist14
They already have painting on PC and they still seem to like mutations. It's a different look, plus it's an actual accomplishment
xrayboom
eww , i wish it dont gonna be on Xbox One. We just wasted our time to breed 100 dino different color. Worked hard to got all that, for nothing lol
Zagan
Paint on dinos looks nothing like a mutation, not only it is limited to a few colors but it looks clearly painted and unnatural so you have nothing to worry about, just look at some paints already made (just google ark paint or template) and you will understand. HugoDanilo
I agree with Zagan. The mutation color looks more natural than painting and thats why it wont be replaced.
Musketeer
On PC painted dino doesn't look painted from the distance as you approach it.. when you get close they eventually you see it painted. It really sucks. No such problem with mutations. On PC we've got both - colour mutations and dino paint.

K1ngj036
100000% agree with this. Being able to paint dinos with a click of a button takes away from the cross breeding family tree that people like myself and tribemate worked on. hopefully this does not come out on xbox cuz the mutation community is awesome and this might break it. Plus having colorful dinos running around will make the games kinda lame. instead of that rare mutated dino u bred. U will see a painted dino. painting should stay the same as is. TheJelly
i dont think it can replace a good mutation. its like fools gold, you can show it off but your not fooling anybody. theres hard work or pure luck that goes into mutations, thats what people pay for. to have something most don't. after all ..anybody can paint a painting, but they wont sell aswell as a masterpiece. Dracul
Paintings pretty wonky too you'll see once it lands for you guys its not like oh I want to paint the spots on my rex blue 'click' its really damn clumsy and the base color can alter a lot of color tones making some impossible to emulate with paint. However a good mutation color might make a fantastic base for a paint job.
Ulta
Get use ot it cause console is probably going to get it anyway. But trust us PCers. It will NOT make your mutated dino's worthless. Not by a long shot. Mutated dino's looks soooo much cleaner and natural than painted ones. I tried. I took red and yellow paint and tried to paint my lightning wyvern red body with yellow highlights and 'fancy' patterns. In the end, he looked awful close up. Then I cheat mutated the same colors onto him with admin codes just to compare and wow did he look soooo much better... So don't worry your head off over it. Mutated dino's not only look better than attempted painted ones, but they also probably got way better stats if the breeder did things right, thus the combo makes them very valuable. Did I forget o mention that painting is a tedious and not easy process to get to even remotely look right? Even with a mouse? I bet console controller will make the process even harder and thus no one will bother with it anyway
AmeliaRose
Walking up and slapping paint on a dino with a brush wont breed into your bloodlines.. however, admin painting does. But that can only be done by server admins or in single player.. so atm unless you on a server where admin will do it, or on official. Paint is just paint and mutations are still an accomplishment
AiDoll
I have painted dinos and mutations...I like the mutations a lot better than the paint.
LilNastyGurl
Xbox/PS4 painting will be vastly inferior without the use of external texture tools. They'll have to rely on mutations.
Vinyl
Personally I'll never paint any of my dinosaurs. I'll feel much more accomplished when I get done breeding my beautiful dinosaurs then simply just slathering them up in some paint.
Krampus132
Painting is a little pointless actually, but I've seen people sell painted Dino's to noob tribes as "mutated" It would be cool thought is there was an ability to do warpaint or tattoos on the Dino's with a bit more structure since the paint UI makes it look like you are painting with, well MS Paint. Turin
Painting is a lot of fun, it's on PC since long ago. People still mutate dinos, though. So, there won't be a problem.
