Lego
Rock Elemental or Doedi at gathering stone So i'm going to make a stone base soon which one should i use for gatherting the stone require to make it doedi or rock elemental?
eESTlane
depends. doedic can be carried by wyvs/quetzals so you can easily and quickly transport it between clusters of nodes and your base. we used golems in conjunction with weight paracers on scorched before the borders were opened. did the job just fine too basically, both work. your map, location and used creature stats matter. vanyelxp5
I use my rock elemental and have my best weight bronto follow it when I need stone. Currently the bronto can carry a vault full of stone without being encumbered. ^.^ Braun is the best hauler.
Lego
So Rock Ele > doedi at SE with mega elemental farming paracer while doedi is flexible at moving from 1 place to another cause they can be carry by quetz and wyvern? Also will a bronto with 4k weight be enough?
Darrien
Another method is either a Beaver or Thorny Dragon and put the stone in its inventory while on a platform, the stone gets reduced weight so you can get a bit more if you want. Kallor
Don't gather stone and transport it, fill the golem with thatch and build stone structures on the fly since it gathers wood and stone easily. Have something follow for carrying the made structures.

Have something follow for carrying the made structures. Gonna have to agree heavily with this. A typical base farming routine back on the PVE server I use yo play on usually includes a good doedic for stone, either a mammoth or beaver for wood and thatch, and a paracer or two to carry the completed building pieces. Its alot quicker to build on the go, rather than gather and transfer to the base.
vanyelxp5
I gather to stockpile, as well as gather to build. So I tend to just gather as much as possible, and then haul it home and put it away. One trip out more than fills my stone boxes and can fill my wood boxes too, and still leave enough wood to grind into thatch and fill those. I do this myself with a doedic and mammoth no need for more really if weight stats are good on mammoth

sal
Why even bother with stone? Metal is easy to get and paste comes free with snails. So you only haven to farm one resource compared to 3 for stone. Last time i build somethin out of stone was a long time ago, its usually more work than building in metal strait away... In PVE, stone can be used instead of metal for aesthetic considerations
Darkintellect
Mantis. Only creature I can make a 1.6 million stone structure city with on Official in two weeks. Having 2200 weight and ability to gather 10k thatch and wood in 2-3 mins, then farm stone and build as I'm farming. I value it far, far, far more than my Doed, Golem, Beaver, Bronto and Elk, all of which are max level kibble tame. Mantis made them obsolete. Harrist14
Mantis is pretty legit, and can fight for itself better than a doedicurus, plus it gathers wood, thatch, fiber, stone, flint, metal, whatever basically

Waverly
Our mantis was a godsend, so much so that we ended up with about 5 high level ones, one for each tribe mate As far as building on the go, I agree wholeheartedly with that. Only way I gather anymore.

Jostabeere
If we consider ONLY Rock vs. Doed vs. Mantis, it is definitely Rock. But if we bring in other factors like Carrying flyers or tools you need to repair all the time or Paracer farms, they become en par.
