Metal Base Question

I recently built one large room made from Adobe and because of the size of it I didn't get the home insulation buff.

Therefore I was wondering if I built a massive room out of metal would I be able to avoid getting the negative buff that cooks me in about 10 seconds from being inside?

In other words do you still get cooked in massive rooms made out of metal in Scorched Earth because a giant room is not seen to be a base?

No, any base large enough that it doesn't get the benefit of the buff for adobe won't get the penalty for being metal.

My base is alternating bands of metal and adobe and there are a few places where I can stand that I get either the adobe bonus or the metal penalty, but most areas I get nothing.

Just saying, my massive stone base cooks me, and I simply have a small 1x1x1 adobe room inside it to stand in to cool down.
